Like most patricians of the Khanid Kingdom, the Goudiyah family claims descent from the officers and corporate magnates who supported Khanid II during his split from the Amarr Empire. Six hundred years ago, they were a successful merchant house from the middle class of Amarr society - free and wealthy, but without political power. The prospect of social advancement made them throw in their lot with the rebellious heir. When Khanid II emerged victorious from the secession wars, the gamble paid off. For their financial and logistic support, the new king elevated the family to the Holder caste, the slave-owning elite.
Ever since then, the house of Goudiyah has enjoyed a prominent place at the top of the Kingdom's society.
