Born an orphan on a desolate planet now uninhabited in The Forge region 'Sandman' grew up in many different places none of which he calls home.

He was not known as 'Sandman' for some time after he graduated the Cladari Naval Academy and was assigned to the Special Ops section. While there it became painfully obvious (to his enemies) that he worked best at night. In fact he was so proficient at night attacks he was given command of an elite night strike force. It was then that one of his subordinates jokingly gave him the nickname 'Sandman'. The joke was that he could get so close to his target undected that he could see the 'sleep' in their eyes before he eliminated them. The name stuck and as he moved through the ranks that is all anyone ever called him. Later in his Navy career he was assigned to Starship Command.

His career in starship command was not as long or illustrious as he first intended. While on assignment a tregedy struck at his home where his wife and two young boys were killed mysteriously. This devastated Sandman and he quit the Navy to find out what happened. He knows that there was foul play and he needed a way to travel around known space and find out what happened.

Sandman hooked up with the Dynaverse Corporation which had just been formed. Sandman saw a lot of promise in this new corp, but it soon became apparent that the leaders were just using their subordinates for their own benefit. The final straw was when the person in charge of making ships wanted to charge him 500,000 ISK to build him a cruiser. Sandman decided that he could and would do it himself. He also decided that he didn't need to be with Dynaverse anymore. So he and some of his other pals from Dynaverse formed the Shadow Knight Corporation, and made a vow that the members will come first. Their first goal was to make sure every member had a cruiser at NO COST to them. They did the same with battleships for those that wanted them.

So if you see Sandman around he's either working for the corp or searching for the answers to his loved ones' deaths.
