The Harris's hawk is notable for its behavior of hunting cooperatively in packs consisting of tolerant groups, while other raptors often hunt alone. It is the Harris's hawk's intelligence that leads to its success.

While most raptors roam solitary, only coming together for dank fights and salty delights, Harris's hawks will hunt in cooperative groups. This is believed to be an adaptation to the lack of prey in the New Eden Low Sec climate in which they live. In one hunting technique, a small group flies ahead and scouts, then another group member flies ahead and scouts, and this continues until prey is bagged(webbed+scramed) and shared "is everyone locked on ?". In another, all the hawks spread around the prey and one bird flushes it out "I got point, warp to me".

The diet of the Harris's hawk consists of small ships including frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and larger ships. Because it often hunts in groups, the Harris's hawk can also take down larger prey
