The Amarr Empire is one of the oldest and most powerful factions in New Eden, a vast interstellar human civilization built on faith, hierarchy, and slavery. Its people are devout followers of the Amarrian faith, worshiping a deity known as the “True God.” The Empire is ruled by the God-Emperor and a complex hierarchy of nobles and priests, with the Emperor claiming both divine and temporal authority.

The Amarr originated as a single human empire that sought to unify humanity under one faith and centralized rule. Their expansion was driven by conquest and religious zeal, incorporating other human civilizations into their dominion, often through slavery. The Amarrian society is highly stratified: the nobility and clergy wield immense power, while the common citizens and enslaved populations serve in various capacities, often forced to fight, work, or serve the Empire. Slavery, though controversial among outsiders, is considered both a duty and a moral good within Amarrian culture, seen as a path to spiritual enlightenment for the enslaved.

Amarr technology blends advanced science with ritualistic tradition. They are known for their massive capital ships, energy-based weapons, and advanced armor, reflecting their belief that material power and divine guidance are inseparable. Politically, the Amarr are expansionist but cautious, relying on diplomacy, faith-driven loyalty, and intimidation. Despite its rigid hierarchy, internal power struggles among the nobility and the Emperor’s court are common, occasionally erupting into civil conflict.

The Empire has long-standing rivalries with other factions, particularly the Minmatar Republic, whose people were enslaved during the Amarr’s historical conquests. This has fueled centuries of war, rebellion, and guerrilla resistance, shaping Amarrian foreign and domestic policies. Internally, the Amarr maintain strict religious orthodoxy, with the priesthood acting as both spiritual guide and political enforcer, ensuring that loyalty to the God-Emperor supersedes personal ambition.

Despite its authoritarian and oppressive nature, the Amarr Empire has endured for thousands of years due to its centralized structure, disciplined military, and deeply ingrained cultural cohesion. Its citizens see themselves as the chosen carriers of divine will, spreading their faith and order across the stars, while outsiders often view them as tyrants and zealots. In essence, the Amarr represent the fusion of religious devotion, imperial ambition, and rigid social order—a civilization where faith is law, and power is both a divine right and a sacred duty.
