==== Aggression Timer =====
The presence of the aggression timer means that you have done something to piss somebody in the EVE universe off. Mouseover the aggression timer notice to see who. If it is an NPC corporation (like Serpentis), then it doesn't mean anything. Unless the corporation in question is CONCORD, in which case you're pretty well f*****. However, if you have been stealing from another player's ore cans or wrecks then that person (and their entire corporation if they are a member of a player corp) gets a 15 minute window to beat your ass like a cheap dusty rug without CONCORD interfering with them. Be cautious before taking loot from any container that does not "belong' to you.
===== AGENT LOCATION =====
Open your character window, and go to "Standings", then select "Liked By". Right click one of the corporations there, and do "Show Info". The info window will have a tab for agents. Good if you have a particular corporation to work for in mind.
Or, go into your map window, go to the Star Map, and then the "Color Stars By" subtab. Expand the "My Information" category, and select "My Agents". Solar systems with agents who will speak to you will glow green. Mouseover them to get a rundown of what agents are available in that system. Good for identifying agents that you know will give you work.
Or, open your character window, and select the "Standings" tab, then click a Faction and bring up the info window. In the window will be a tab called "Member Corps". That will list every corporation that is affiliated with that faction. You can then click their little blue info square to get full corporate details. Good if you want to do work for a particular faction (rp, storyline, etc).
Try to locate an agent in 0.7 security space or lower (ie: NOT OURSULAERT). Agent pay is greatly dictated by security level of the system. Lower security = better pay.
