"Firstly, any attempts to use non-lethal force are pretty much doomed to fail; eventually, Cookie Monster is just going to get back up and try to eat the cookie again. Jean Grey, Nate Grey, or Hellion could grab the cookie with telekinesis - or grab Cookie Monster and keep him back. The question is, how long would Cookie Monster keep trying to get the cookie? They're not going to kill him, but they can't just hold him off indefinitely, and Cookie Monster seems fairly determined. Fantomex's misdirection powers could conceivably be used to convince CM that he's already eaten the cookie. But I suspect that when it comes to cookies he has far greater clarity of thought and purpose than normal mortals. Similarly, a telepath could try to brainwash him, but Cookie Monster's cookie hunger might prove too powerful to overcome. Shadowcat could dive at the cookie, phase it and herself, and embed it in a lump of rock. Iceman could freeze it into an iceberg. Would Cookie Monster be able to shatter a large solid object to get to the cookie inside? I'm not hugely familiar with his canon, so I don't know what strength feats he has, but the "monster" part suggests he would. I think the X-Men's best hope lies with Cyclops, the master strategist. He would assess the situation, consider all possible paths towards victory, and hit on the only real chance of success. And then knock CM down with a quick optic blast, and then eat the cookie himself."
