Find the Thera and Turnur wormholes nearest to you: jumps away, destination, max ship size and hours left, live from eve-scout. Free, no account.

Thera is one of the most distinctive systems in EVE Online: a central wormhole connected dynamically to hundreds of cluster systems through unstable wormholes scouted and mapped by the community. Turnur is its more recently introduced "twin".

The Thera finder on Capsuleers.app aggregates public Thera and Turnur wormholes from the eve-scout.com feed via the `/api/eve/thera-finder` proxy. For each connection you see the entry signature ID and the exit signature ID, the destination K-space system, max ship size, estimated remaining hours and number of jumps between the selected origin system and the wormhole. The filter bar lets you switch Thera/Turnur and search by origin system.

It's useful to scouts, haulers and fleet commanders looking for shortcuts to far regions without long stargate routes, and to anyone routing a deep-null roam back to a trade hub in a handful of jumps. Because every connection lists both signature IDs, you can match the hole the moment you warp to it in space. Pilots logged in with the `esi-ui.write_waypoint.v1` scope can send the waypoint straight to the EVE client.

Finding the nearest entrance

Pick the system you are in. The finder takes every public Thera and Turnur signature currently scouted, works out how many stargate jumps each entrance is from you, and lists them closest first.

That is the whole question most people have, and it is the one the collaborative wormhole mappers do not answer. They are built for people who live in wormhole space and want to chart a chain. This is built for the opposite case: you are somewhere in known space, you want into Thera or you want to use it as a shortcut, and you need to know which hole to fly to.

Each result shows the entrance system with its region and security status, the number of jumps from where you are, and which hub it leads to.

Thera and Turnur: the difference

Thera is a shattered wormhole system with an unusually large number of public connections scattered across known space, which is what makes it a shortcut: two systems twenty jumps apart by gate can be two wormholes apart through Thera.

Turnur is a lowsec system that works the same way from a routing point of view. It has its own set of public connections, mapped by the same scouts, and it is often the better entrance simply because it happens to be closer to you.

Both are listed together by default because the useful question is which hole is nearest, not which hub it belongs to. If you only want one of them, the toggle above the list hides Turnur.

Reading a connection

Every entry carries both signature IDs, the one you scan down on the known-space side and the one on the hub side, so you can confirm you are at the right hole before you commit.

Two numbers decide whether a connection is usable at all. Max ship size is a hard limit set by the wormhole type, and it is the reason a perfectly close entrance is useless to a freighter. Hours left is the remaining lifetime: a hole with a couple of hours on it is fine for a one-way trip and a bad idea if you intend to come back the same way.

Where the data comes from

The connections come from eve-scout, the community that scouts and publishes the public Thera and Turnur signatures, through their public signature API. We add the routing: the jump distance from your system to each entrance is computed on our own copy of the stargate graph.

That division matters for trusting the result. The list is only as current as the last scout report, and a hole nobody has scanned yet will not appear here or anywhere else. The jump counts, on the other hand, are exact.

Setting the waypoint in game

If you have connected an EVE character, each result carries a button that sets the entrance system as an autopilot waypoint in your client, so you can go from the list to undocking without copying a system name by hand.

It uses CCP's official API and needs only the waypoint permission, which you can revoke from your profile at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to sign in to use the Thera finder?

No. Searching for the nearest entrance works signed out. Signing in with EVE Online only adds the option to set the entrance as an autopilot waypoint in your client.

How often does the list update?

It reflects eve-scout's current public signature list every time you run a search. Since those signatures are scouted and reported by players, a connection can exist in game for a while before it appears, and a listed connection can already have collapsed.

Why does a close entrance show no route for my ship?

Check the maximum ship size on that entry. Wormhole types limit what can pass through them by ship mass class, so a small hole two jumps away is unusable to a battleship or a freighter while a large one twelve jumps away is fine.

Can I use Thera to shorten a normal route?

That is the main reason people use it. Two systems far apart by stargate are often a couple of jumps from two different Thera entrances, which turns a long haul into a short one. The route finder will do this for you automatically, taking Thera and Turnur transits into account when it builds a path.
