This page explains which cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. Capsuleers.app respects the principle of explicit consent set out by GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive: no analytics or marketing cookie is set until you accept it through the banner.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files the site stores in your browser to remember information between page loads (e.g. login session, language preference) or for statistical purposes. Some are essential for the site to work; others are optional and only activate after your consent.
Categories of cookies used
Technical cookies (always on)
ALWAYS ON
Essential for the site to work. They do not require consent. They include: session cookies (keep you signed in to Discord), language cookies (remember your IT/EN choice), consent cookies (remember your choice on analytics cookies).
Examples: session cookie `nuxt-session`, language cookie `eoitalia_i18`, consent cookie `capsuleers_consent_v1`.
Analytics cookies (opt-in)
Active only after explicit consent through the cookie banner. They allow aggregate, anonymous measurement of site usage (page views, tool events) via Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager. No EVE game data (character_id, corporation, alliance) is ever sent. Google Consent Mode v2 is enabled: without your OK, GA4 receives no hits.
Provider: Google LLC (Google Analytics 4 + Google Tag Manager). Retention: 14 months (GA4 default).
Marketing cookies
We do not currently use marketing or ad-profiling cookies. The banner exposes this category because Google Consent Mode v2 explicitly requires it, but no advertising tag is wired in the current code.
How to manage cookies
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the button below, or the "Manage Cookies" link in the footer of every page. You may also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — but some technical cookies are required for login, so blocking them will make the site unusable in authenticated mode.
Third-party cookies
Pages that embed third-party content (e.g. the Twitch player in streamer previews, YouTube videos in editorial content, iframes of external tools like whtype.info or evemarketbrowser.com) may set their own cookies when you interact with them. These cookies are subject to the providers' own policies. Capsuleers.app does not manage them directly.
Third-party authentication services
Capsuleers.app uses three OAuth providers for sign-in and character linking: Discord (primary site login), Fenris Creations / EVE Online ESI (linking EVE characters), Twitch (account linking for live-stream notifications). When we redirect you to these services during authentication, the provider sets its own technical cookies on its own domain to handle session, security and anti-bot protection (e.g. Cloudflare cookies). These cookies are first-party to the provider, not to Capsuleers.app, and are governed by the providers' own policies: Discord (discord.com/privacy), Fenris Creations (eveonline.com/privacy-policy), Twitch (twitch.tv/p/legal/privacy-notice). Without accepting these technical cookies you cannot complete sign-in: if you block them at the browser level you can still browse the site anonymously, but authenticated features (pilot profile, article writing, fleet ops, corporation bulletins, streaming widgets) will not be available.
Updates to this policy
This cookie policy may be updated. The last-updated date is shown at the top of the page.
