On 6 October Fenris Creations published the official list of candidates for the 21st Council of Stellar Management. Fifty-four pilots made it through the application stage, and the election calendar is now fixed: campaigning is open until 21 October, then capsuleers can vote from 22 October to 3 November.
Key dates
6 October: candidates announced
6–21 October: campaign period
17–18 October: short candidate interviews live on FC TV, starting at 14:00 UTC and running through the day (twitch.tv/fenriscreations). They will be uploaded to YouTube later.
22 October – 3 November: voting period
Every candidate has a thread on the official forum, where they present their platform and answer questions: CSM Campaigns.
Who is running
Going by the corporation and alliance listed next to each name in the announcement, two blocs stand out. Goonswarm Federation has eight candidates (Adhamhnon, Ceema, hyprviper1, Mercilessguard, Reagalan, Sopleb, Taran Lazarus and Zintage Enaka) and The Initiative. also has eight (HuntBuzz, Joilove Sunrunner, Nordpol The Extinguisher, Nyx 0, Pandoralica, Schadsquatch, sennett and Seraph Essael). Test Alliance Please Ignore, Fraternity. and Sedition. each field two names, while Brave Collective, Pandemic Legion and Northern Coalition. have one each. The rest are independents or members of smaller groups.
Several names are familiar to anyone who follows the council:
Zintage Enaka (Goonswarm Federation) is a veteran of CSM 19 and CSM 20.
Mike Azariah (The Scope, no alliance) has already served six terms.
Pandoralica (The Initiative.), who streams on Twitch as zehPando, is a former CSM member.
Itaer is a current CSM 20 member.
Machiavelian (Deepwater Hooligans) is seeking re-election.
Other candidates include Switch 4 (Sedition.), who is running on a low-sec and faction warfare platform, and Dujek Oneye of Brave Collective. The full list of 54 names, with a short pitch for each, is on the official announcement.
Worth remembering: the number of candidates from a bloc does not tell you how many seats it will win. That depends on how votes are spread, so large groups often have to decide how many names to back.

Why it matters
The CSM is the official channel between players and the developers, and with Cradle of War reshaping force projection and insurgencies, this council will be the one discussing the fallout. If you want a say, read the campaign threads, watch the interviews on 17–18 October and vote before 3 November.
