EVE Online's Alliance Tournament XXII officially kicked off on Saturday, August 29, 2026, marking the start of the first weekend of the preliminary stages on the Thunderdome server. Broadcasted by Fenris Creations, the event sees New Eden's formations clashing in the new Swiss system format.
The New Format and Participation
58 teams registered to compete in this twenty-second edition.
The preliminary group stage takes place over three consecutive weekends; each team will play seven matches.
The top 16 teams will advance to the final stage, scheduled for October 31 and November 1.
Updated Rules and Restrictions
This year's restrictions aim to curb battleship-heavy setups:
All battleships (excluding certain Navy Ships) are limited to a maximum of 1 Armor Plate or 2 Shield Extenders of any size.
Specific ships like the Cenotaph, Odysseus, and recent ORE faction ships have been banned.
The total value of ships on the field cannot exceed 200 points per team during the 10-minute match.
Flagships are not allowed in the preliminary phase; teams have only three ship bans per match.

The completion of the second round, which includes the highly anticipated matches between The Initiative. vs. Deteriorated and Ivy League vs. Sigma Grindset, has been rescheduled for the opening of the second day of competition set for August 30.
Beyond access to the final stages, teams are fighting to secure a new set of exclusive hulls developed and sponsored by the Amarr Empire. The main rewards for the tournament winners include:
