Pochven's Forgotten War: Inside the August Battle Reports That Toppled Kuharah Fort

Pochven, the outlaw region carved out of Delve five years ago when the Triglavian Collective anchored its conquest over what used to be null-sec space, rarely makes headlines outside of the pilots who actually live there. But a string of battle reports posted to the official EVE Online forums this past month shows that the region's long-running, low-visibility war has entered one of its hottest stretches in years — and it says a lot about how fragile the balance of power inside Pochven really is.

A six-year war most of New Eden never sees

Pochven is nominally NPC territory. On the sovereignty map, every one of its 27 systems is still listed under the Triglavian Collective, and the region remains flagged as lawless, high-danger space built around Drifter and Triglavian NPC activity. But player-built citadels have anchored there since the region's formation, and control of those structures has changed hands over and over as alliances and Triglavian-roleplay "clades" fight for a foothold.

In a thread titled simply "Pochven War," posted to the forums' Intergalactic Summit section, longtime chronicler Celltear laid out the state of play: a conflict "that for some dates back 6 years, with on and off periods. For others, a recent escalation." The post describes infighting inside the Kybernauts Sub-Clade — one of the largest Triglavian-aligned player groups — with a faction pursuing what it frames as the "extirpation of poshlost activity and cleansing of structures" against former allies who have since switched sides. As Celltear put it, "ally & foe has throughout time changed, as has ownership of the structures."

The numbers: 2,000 pilots, 270 billion ISK, one fort down

The escalation played out in public view between August 12 and August 14, 2026, with fighting concentrated around the systems of Kuharah, Ahtila, Ranavoss, and Tunudan. Battle reports linked in the thread put the cumulative toll at roughly 2,002 pilots involved and 270 billion ISK in losses across the engagements.

The headline casualty was the Kuharah Fort, a structure that fell on August 14 after its armor and hull timers ran out — the linked battle report is publicly viewable at https://capsuleers.app/tools/battle-report/43a26b81-a018-48ce-b33b-0b52968b2902. Its destruction left only three structures standing in Pochven, and by Celltear's account, all three are now held by The Initiative. (INIT.) — a well-established null-sec alliance that has maintained a long-running presence in the region.

Suggested visuals: the two battle-report links above render full engagement timelines and killmail lists that can be screenshotted directly for the published article; the thread's original poster also shared two commemorative pieces of community fan art ("P-27 (2026 remake) ENHANCED" and "P-34 AI Enhance") that are worth embedding for atmosphere, credited to their forum thread.

A clade divided

What makes this flare-up notable isn't just the ISK total — Pochven has seen bigger single fights — but the internal fracture driving it. The Kybernauts Clade has positioned itself for years as the standard-bearer of "pro-Triglavian" roleplay and PvP in the region, but the thread describes a split within that community itself, with some Kybernauts-aligned pilots reportedly abandoning the clade over disagreements about how aggressively to police "impure" structures and activity.

That kind of internal collapse tends to matter more than an external attack in a region as structurally fragile as Pochven, where holding territory has always depended less on raw numbers and more on which alliance can keep its coalition from turning on itself. With Kybernauts fractured and INIT. consolidating the last standing structures, the region's near-term balance of power looks more settled than it has in months — though, as Celltear's own framing makes clear, alliances in Pochven have flipped before and will likely flip again.

Why this matters beyond Pochven

The timing is worth noting. Fenris Creations' incoming rework of force-projection mechanics — the Ansiblex capacitor overhaul already shaking up jump-bridge logistics across null-sec — will also reshape how outside coalitions reinforce or contest a region like Pochven, which sits outside the standard jump-bridge network entirely and has always demanded its own dedicated logistics chain of cynosaural fields and jump-capable ships. A null-sec coalition that wants to intervene in Pochven can't lean on the "blue donut" jump-bridge infrastructure the wider rework is dismantling; it has to already be staged for the fight. That makes internal fractures like the one splitting the Kybernauts Sub-Clade even more consequential — reinforcements from outside are neither quick nor cheap, so a clade that can't hold itself together has little hope of being bailed out from elsewhere in New Eden.

Whether this is the start of a genuine changing of the guard in Pochven or just another swing in a war that has run hot and cold for six years, it's a reminder that some of New Eden's most consequential fights are still the ones nobody outside the region is watching.
