Daliyn

The asteroid belt appeared abruptly from the blackness of space; thousands upon thousands of rocks strewn together like a giant pearl necklace around the pale blue star. The flight of the ship smoothed out almost as quickly, the switch over from warp to conventional engines noticeable only by the sudden change in pitch. For a moment he allowed himself time to breath, almost daring to hope that he was safe.

Data from the sensors was fed to him quickly, travelling along the miles of cable that connected him to the rest of his ship. He had barely enough time to determine his exact position in the system before he noticed the other ship dropping out of warp directly behind.
