Callous was born in the ass end of a back water system you've never even heard of. Infact its so back water that its not even in your autopilot's database. And for that very reason his home system is a haven for the legally challenged and criminally inclined. His father was a big time ring leader of the Backwater syndicates which made its living selling back the pillaged goods that its raiding parties claimed from unlucky caravans upon which they descended. Callous, having been born the bastard son to one of the most silent criminal overlords in the galaxy, is a natural born leader. At the ripe old age of 15 the males of the syndicate, bosses sons are no exception, are initiated by having their retina's burned out and their vision augmented with a blackmarket Ocular filtration device spefically designed and contracted by and for the Backwater Syndicate. Callous was the first male in the history of the Backwater Syndicate, BS for short, to have scortched his retina's with his own hands.
