On Saturday evening Amamake filled up again, one week after the Birthday Brawl. This time the occasion was the "2nd Brawl for CSM", organised by Orion SA Solo, a candidate in the CSM 21 election. Our battle report counts 652 killmails, about 411.6 billion ISK destroyed and 516 pilots between 21:00 and 01:00 UTC on 17–18 October.
It is a useful snapshot for another reason too: voting for the 21st Council of Stellar Management opens on 22 October. We covered the candidate list in CSM 21 Candidates Revealed, and the earlier Amamake fight in Amamake Birthday Brawl Burns 1.87 Trillion ISK.
What the Brawl for CSM was
The event was announced on r/Eve a week earlier (event thread) for 17 October at 21:00 EVE time in Amamake. It is the second year of the format. This year's theme was T1 battlecruisers, and the organiser said he would hand out 100 Hurricanes to anyone who fleeted up with him. He also invited every CSM candidate to bring their own fleet, and promised to stream the event and link the campaign posts of everyone who showed up.
His own warning was just as clear: it is lowsec, and people would do "what Eve folks do".
The numbers
We rebuilt the fight on capsuleers.app: full battle report. The tool split the grid into two groups. Because one killmail can credit several sides, the kills do not add up exactly to the total.
Side | Pilots | Kills | Losses | ISK destroyed | ISK lost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Sedition., Escalate., Dreadnought Diplomacy., Local Is Primary, Psyno Theory and others | 289 | 611 | 335 | 298.8 B | 256.7 B |
Goonswarm Federation, Tactical Narcotics Team, Brave Collective and others | 227 | 97 | 145 | 112.7 B | 14.7 B |
Total | 516 | 652 | 411.6 B ISK destroyed | ||
Numbers from other sites will differ, because they are calculated differently. The grouping is the one our tool computes from the killmails; it says who was shooting whom, not who organised what.
The biggest contingent on the second side was Goonswarm Federation, with 209 pilots. On the first side the largest single groups were Escalate. (61 pilots) and Sedition. (53). The fight was not a single steady brawl: split by hour, the heaviest ISK loss fell between 22:00 and 23:00 UTC, with roughly 237 billion ISK destroyed in that hour alone, while the kill count peaked in the first hour after 21:00.
What the organiser says
In his thank-you thread Orion SA Solo thanks everyone who undocked "for a bit of silly fun", and says he bought 100 Hurricanes and is "pretty sure they all died". He describes a fight with capitals and no time dilation, and says one pilot undocked a ship that "most likely would still be tanking right now" without a bad blue pill roll (killmail). He also links a battle report on another site; we do not use it here, because its numbers are computed differently from ours.
That thread is the organiser's own account, so take the tone with that in mind. What the killmails confirm is the size of the fight, not the spirit.
Why it matters this week
Voting for CSM 21 runs from 22 October to 3 November. Candidates' platforms are in the official forum, in the CSM campaigns section, and the organiser's own thread is here. A second r/Eve post this week pushed the same message: a video from the "Eve News, Weather, and Sports" series asks players to think about what kind of CSM they want before voting opens (thread, video).
A brawl in lowsec is not a vote, and nothing in the data says it will move one. But for a week that began with 54 names on a ballot, 516 pilots showing up in one system for a candidate's event is a number worth recording.
