THE BATTLE OF AGINCOURT 1415-
It rained for most of the night turning the ground sodden with ankle deep mud. Both armies rose before dawn and assembled for battle, the English numbering 5000 archers and 900 men-at-arms and the French between 20-30,000. The French opened the battle with a cavelry charge, which was turned back by the English archers wooden stakes hammered into there defensive line. Next came the French men-at-arms with there heavy armor, to there horror they sank into the mud from the ground churned up by the cavelry, The English long bows cut them down but many French drowned and also(as they got closer to the English lines)where killed with the lead mallets that the archers carried to hammer there defensive stakes into the ground. It was a white wash and the English lost 1 to every 120 French men.
