A capsuleer bastardization of an ancient order of paladins dedicated to the protection and betterment of the Amarr Empire, based upon the warrior code of the Amarrian knight of old.

The Knighthood was re-created during the 24th Imperial Crusade when in YC-112 a Ni-Kunni capsuleer gathered several crusade veterans and began the Order. Their stated mission was to protect the Amarrian people from falling to the Minmatar war of aggression that was started by the infamous Elder Invasion, while simultaniously enlightening the pilots within its ranks. The order regularly patroled the Amarr-Minmatar warzone where its main focus was to protect Amarrian systems from being conquered by enemy forces or to retake them after they already had become occupied. However, after a year of operation it fell apart and the name fell to the wayside of capsuleer attention.

Recently, however, it has come under the managment of the true successors of the original Knighthood that began on Athra: the Order of the Weeping Sun. The Weeping Suns are an elite order of cyber knights based on Kihtaled IV, but have now returned to their ancestral hold of Mercy's Keep on the Amarr homeworld. They are a cold and honorable lot, and are eagar to bury the association with capsuleers their progenitor's name has been sullied by.
