There are many that would view the Sardaukar as savage and brutal killers. However the Sardaukar Legions established by the Corrino Family, were created as a last resort effort to combat hostilities and stabilize peace in the universe. During times of peace, the Sardaukar were used as bodyguards to the Imperial Family. Over the centuries the Sardaukar themselves became overconfident in their abilities. As they only answer to the Emperor personally they began to view outsiders as beneath them. However, their underlying cause has not been forgotten
