Pilot Intel on a pasted Local: summary of alliances, tag legend and the compact list with danger dots
A Local analyzed: alliances on top, then every pilot with danger, kills and tags.

What is Pilot Intel?

Pilot Intel is the Capsuleers.App tool that turns the Local member list of EVE Online into a dossier per pilot. It takes a list of EVE Online character names — usually the Local member list — and builds a dossier for each pilot from the Capsuleers.App killmail archive of the last 90 days: kills and losses, efficiency, how big the gangs they fly in are, which hulls they used and who they fly with most.

On top of the numbers it puts colour-coded tags that answer the questions asked before a fight: does this pilot fly capitals, a Black Ops, logistics, a cyno? Rows are marked by danger, so in a Local of forty names the ones to watch stand out first.

How do I check the pilots in Local?

To check the pilots in Local, copy the member list in game and paste it into Pilot Intel on Capsuleers.App: the tool turns every name into a dossier. The box takes any list of EVE Online character names, one per line. Each name is resolved through ESI, CCP's public API, and checked against the Capsuleers killmail archive of the last 90 days, and the report replaces the box. No account is needed. The names do not have to come from Local: a fleet roster, the names on a killmail or a corp member list work the same way. «Reset» clears the box if you want to start from a new list. Pilots with no killmails in the archive still appear in the report, with zero kills and losses.

How to use it

  1. In game, select the pilots in the Local member list (click one, then Ctrl+A) and copy them.
  2. Paste them in the box.
  3. Press «Run Analysis». «Reset» clears the box.

Tip Names do not have to come from Local: a list from a fleet roster, a killmail or a corp member list works the same.

Who is in Local, by alliance and corporation?

Pilot Intel answers «who is in Local» with the Local Analysis Summary: three counters for alliances, corporations and pilots across the whole scan, and a list of every detected alliance with its logo and pilot count, biggest first. It sits above the pilot list, so you read the shape of the crowd before any single dossier: one big alliance with a few strays is a different fight from forty unaffiliated names. Pilots with no alliance are grouped in a single «No Alliance» chip instead of being scattered. The summary is built from the affiliations ESI reports at scan time, and it always counts the full scan, even while the search box narrows the list below it.

How to use it

  1. Analyze a list of names.
  2. Read the three counters and the «Detected Alliances» chips.
  3. Pilots with no alliance are grouped in one «No Alliance» chip.

Tip The summary always counts the full scan, even while the search box narrows the list below.

What do the intel tags like CYNO and DROPPER mean?

Intel tags are colour-coded labels that Pilot Intel computes from a pilot's last 90 days of killmails: FC, SUPER, CAPITAL, DROPPER, LOGI, HIGHSEC, GANKER and CYNO (the legend also lists NEWBIE, which is not computed on a pasted Local because it needs the character's birth date). Hull tags follow the ship group the pilot was seen in: FC for a Monitor, SUPER for a Supercarrier, CAPITAL for a Carrier, Dreadnought, Titan or FAX, DROPPER for a Black Ops battleship, LOGI for a logistics cruiser or frigate. Behaviour tags use thresholds: HIGHSEC needs at least 10 kills with 75% or more of them in highsec, GANKER at least 3 highsec kills where the attacker had a security status of -5 or lower, CYNO two deaths with a cyno fitted. The «Intel tag legend» panel above the list always shows the exact rule for each tag.

How to use it

  1. Look at the chips at the end of each row, or in a pilot's card.
  2. Use the «Intel tag legend» panel for the exact rule behind every tag.
No account needed

Tip DROPPER and CYNO together on the same pilots usually mean a hot-drop is possible.

How do I read the danger level and open a pilot dossier?

You read danger in the Compact view of Pilot Intel, which looks like the Local window in game: one row per pilot with a coloured danger bar, alliance and corporation logos, kills and losses, efficiency, tags and the dominant playstyle. Red and orange rows are the pilots to watch, so in a Local of forty names they come first. Clicking a row opens the pilot dossier on the side: a playstyle bar from Solo to Blob, the pilots they fly with most («Often flies with»), the «Last ships used» and a link to the full Capsuleers profile. Esc closes the dossier. The danger level is a reading aid computed from kills, efficiency and the heaviest tags, not a verdict on the pilot.

How to use it

  1. Keep the view on «Compact».
  2. Scan the coloured bar on the left of each row: red and orange are the pilots to watch.
  3. Click a row: the dossier shows the playstyle bar from Solo to Blob, «Often flies with», «Last ships used» and a link to the full profile. Esc closes it.

How do I switch between Compact, Grid and List views?

Use the «Compact», «Grid» and «List» buttons above the Pilot Intel results to change layout. Grid shows every dossier as a card, three per row; List stacks the same cards one per row, for reading top to bottom. Both layouts show the playstyle, the pilots they fly with and the last hulls used without opening anything, which makes them better than Compact when you want depth on a handful of pilots rather than a quick sort of a long Local. The choice lasts for the visit; to change the default view, open your profile and the display preferences. The data is the same in every view, only the density changes.

How to use it

  1. Use the «Compact», «Grid» and «List» buttons above the results.
  2. The choice lasts for the visit; to change the default open your profile, display preferences.

How do I see the ships and fits a pilot flies?

The «Last ships used» list in the Pilot Intel dossier shows the last hulls a pilot flew, with how many kills in each. When the pilot lost that hull, a wrench button opens the fit taken from the loss killmail, with its statistics, so you can see how they actually fly it. You can assign charges and then import the fit into your own fits on Capsuleers.App, which needs an EVE login. Only hulls the pilot lost have a wrench, because a fit exists only in a loss killmail. The list is available from the dossier in Compact view and directly on the cards in Grid and List views.

How to use it

  1. Open a dossier, or switch to Grid or List.
  2. Press the wrench next to a hull in «Last ships used».
  3. Read the fit and its stats; assign charges if you want, then «Import into my fits» (needs login).

How do I share a Local scan with my fleet or corp?

To share a Local scan, press «Share link» in Pilot Intel with the results on screen: the tool saves the report and copies a read-only link that opens the same dossiers for anyone, without an account. The link is also shown under the bar with its expiry and a «Copy» button. Whoever opens it sees the same report, marked as a shared scan. The link is valid for 24 hours, because intel ages fast; after that it answers «Link expired» and a new scan is needed. Sharing is free and anonymous, so you can post the link in fleet chat or on Discord while the fight is still on.

How to use it

  1. With results on screen press «Share link».
  2. The link is copied and also shown under the bar with its expiry and a «Copy» button.
  3. Whoever opens it sees the same report, marked as a shared scan.

How do I send the intel to my fleet in EVE Online?

To send Pilot Intel results to your fleet, sign in with EVE Online, enable the fleet service on the character and join a fleet in game: the box then shows the «Share with the fleet» switch, with the character it uses. With the switch on, the analysis reaches the pilots of your fleet on their Capsuleers Live Map and in Fleet Ops. «Withdraw» takes the intel back. This is the only part of Pilot Intel that needs an EVE login and an ESI permission; analyzing and the 24-hour share link stay anonymous.

How to use it

  1. Sign in with EVE Online and enable the fleet service on the character.
  2. Join a fleet in game: the switch appears under the box with the character it uses.
  3. Analyze with the switch on; «Withdraw» takes the intel back.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check who is in Local in EVE Online?

Select the members in the Local chat window, copy them with Ctrl+C and paste them into Pilot Intel on Capsuleers.App. In a few seconds every pilot has kills, losses, danger and tags, built from the last 90 days of killmails.

Where does Pilot Intel get its data?

Pilot Intel data comes from two sources: kills, losses, tags and partners come from the Capsuleers.App killmail archive of the last 90 days; names and affiliations from ESI, CCP's public API.

Why does a pilot show zero kills?

A pilot shows zero kills when there are no killmails for them in the last 90 days. Zero means no killmails in the last 90 days in our archive. It is not proof the pilot is harmless: a returning veteran looks the same.

What does the DROPPER tag mean?

DROPPER marks a pilot who flew a Black Ops battleship in the last 90 days. Together with CYNO it is the usual sign of a possible hot-drop.

How is the danger level decided?

Pilot Intel decides the danger level from a pilot's kills, efficiency and heaviest tags. It is a reading aid to sort a long Local, not a verdict on the pilot.

Do I need to log in?

No, Pilot Intel does not require an EVE login to analyze a Local. Analyzing and sharing are free and anonymous; login is only needed to import a fit or to send intel to your fleet.

How long does a share link last?

A Pilot Intel share link lasts 24 hours. After that the link answers «Link expired» and a new scan is needed.
