On the evening of 4 October, 8F-TK3 in Delve turned into one of the biggest fights of the autumn. WOMP went in to defend its ally NAVY and ran into a much larger Dracarys-led force than it expected. Our battle report counts 1,147 kills, 3.22 trillion ISK destroyed and 1,232 pilots. WOMP's side took the heavier losses by a wide margin.
A fight like this is never only about ships. It is the latest chapter of a months-long sovereignty war in Delve and Querious, and the two sides are telling very different stories about how it started.
The battle in numbers

The figures below are calculated by capsuleers.app for the 17:00–21:00 UTC window in 8F-TK3. They will not match other sites, which count differently.
WOMP side | Dracarys side | |
|---|---|---|
Pilots | 505 | 727 |
Kills | 664 | 729 |
Losses | 464 | 489 |
ISK destroyed | 1.56 T | 1.66 T |
ISK lost | 1.19 T | 367 B |
The WOMP side was made up of WOMP itself (373 pilots), Naval Defence Alliance (NAVY), DECOY, Escalate. and Wreckflix and chill. The Dracarys side included Dracarys (411 pilots), Wings Freedom, Vanguard (FURY), ChuangShi Federation, Celestial Palace and Insidious.
The Initiative was also on grid and fought its own fight: in the same window it scored 245 kills worth about 232 billion ISK for 47 losses, with 236 pilots involved.
The gap is easier to see in the losses. WOMP's side lost roughly 1.19 trillion ISK against about 367 billion for the Dracarys side. The r/Eve analysis post about the night speaks of 132 dreadnoughts and almost 80 Machariels on that side alone. The same post says the other side lost around 500 billion, a figure that is not the same as our own count, so treat it as the author's number.
A fight that was months in the making
The roots of this conflict go back to the spring. According to the Wings Freedom diplomat who posted on r/Eve, OnlyFleets took several constellations from Wings in southern Delve during Chinese New Year. When OnlyFleets collapsed, WOMP absorbed much of what it left behind. We covered that collapse here: From Querious's Strongest to Five Systems, and the regional reshuffle that followed here: New Alliances Carve Up Delve and Querious.
Since then WOMP has grown fast. One r/Eve analysis puts it at roughly 6,000 members, up from 3,000 in under a month, partly thanks to ex-Pandemic Horde corporations. That is the author's estimate and we could not confirm it independently. WOMP members push back hard on the "Horde 3.0" label, and one of them wrote in the thread that it is Goonswarm propaganda.
Two versions of how it started
The Wings Freedom version. In a long post titled "The Story Behind the 1.8T Fight in Delve", a Wings diplomat says the trouble escalated when a former Horde corporation anchored two Astrahus in Wings sov, and WOMP reinforced two Tatara structures Wings had bought from OnlyFleets. He says WOMP's leader, Rexan, first agreed to a proposal that included handing over the T8T constellation, then rejected it and stopped answering. Wings then began anchoring Astrahus in systems with low ADM, to force a reaction. In his telling, the 8F-TK3 fight was a trap set for WOMP's dreadnoughts and faxes during its prime time.
The WOMP version. Rexan replied in the same thread that the post contains "some truth" but also "a lot of half-truth", and said WOMP had been fighting Wings and Dracarys over Delve and NAVY space for a long time. In a separate r/Eve analysis, the author says WOMP went all in to support NAVY without knowing that Dracarys and its friends had around 400 dreadnoughts on standby. The analysis adds that Wings has anchored structures across Delve and Querious to generate fights, and that it seems to have no ISK limit for it.
Both versions are one-sided by nature. On Reddit they are posts, and we treat them as opinions, not established fact.
The Initiative question
The most contested point is why The Initiative showed up. The same analysis says INIT arrived late with a 250-pilot Raven fleet just as the remaining WOMP ships left the grid, and then shot whatever was left. Wings-side voices say WOMP "batphoned" its friends. In the discussion under a video about the fight, a commenter noted that WOMP leaders had publicly denied that INIT was called in, while the channel that made the video said otherwise. Another commenter countered that WOMP was reacting to 150 enemy dreadnoughts appearing on grid.
We cannot settle this from killmails alone. What the data shows is that INIT was on grid and fought a largely separate battle.
Coalition politics in the background
A few days earlier, a post on r/Eve quoted a Chinese-language statement attributed to a Wings-aligned group (the post's title names CSQY): they did not want or need help from other power blocs against WOMP, and planned to use the Chinese holiday period to take WOMP's territory. Rexan answered that WOMP would happily shoot Goonswarm first if they showed up. The community is also split on whether the Ansiblex changes of Cradle of War, which we analysed here: Ansiblex Overhaul Is Live, are why big groups now have to commit to a region rather than jump in from across the map.
What happens next
The most likely next step, according to the Reddit analysis, is more pressure on WOMP's allies in Delve. If NAVY and DECOY decide the defence is too expensive, they could fall back to Querious. That is a forecast from one author, not a fact. What we can say is that Wings Freedom still has structures anchored across both regions, and that the fight is not over.
Watch the fight
A video titled "224 Dreadnoughts Died in Delve; The bloodbath of 8F-TK3" recaps the battle with map renders: watch on YouTube. The number in the title is the creator's own count. A second battle report, built on the first Reddit post of the night, is here, and the live tracker from that post is still here.
