An opportunistic Minmatar Freighter happened on a jettisoned cargo can on the outskirts of Amarr space. They hoped for an easy windfall instead they found a wooden branch of some otherworldly origin and a small child with a twenty isk gift card to a caldari pleasure hub pinned to his jacket. The frighters, not wanting to get attached (or just lacking creativity), called the boy akidwithastick.

He stayed aboard the freighter for 2 weeks. His rescuers soon realised how much food akid was going to eat; and that the pleasure hub coupon was expired. They flew him to Hulm and left him in the care of the Republic.

Akid was Adopted as part of a 'prove-you're-a-good-person' charity/rehab foundation and then raffeled off in the next function to a wealthy industrialist, who eventually turned it into a publicity stunt to promote is new products.

After Akid came of age he was promptly sent to the Republic University. He studied and worked hard through most of the programs provided, but had to take up extra work at the University to make ends meet. Exhausted, and a little lost, he mistook the capsule program room for the sleep study he was going to be paid to partake in. After a case of mistaken identity and a few clerical errors, Akid was unintentionally made a capsuleer.

Too ashamed to admit their mistake, the clone department gave Akid a Reaper and sent him into space. Where he has now decided to spend his immortality searching the cosmos for bright, shiny things and turrets to shoot them out of.
