In-game bio
Maro Octavius was actually born on a Concord Battleship which was part of a Caldari fleet aimed to wipe out a sizable Guristas threat in the outskirts of the Caldari empire. His mother and father served in the Caldari Navy until the Caldari - Gallentine war, a war which they felt only served to threaten the security and strength of both empires. Leaving service they settled in the Jita system and created a sizeable estate for the family they wanted to have. After the war ended, both Endavi and Triaana were called to serve with Concord because of the commendations and rank they had attained in the Navy. At the same time, Maro was conceived, and thus he was born on a Concord Battleship. Maro seemed destined for service, but in truth his interests varied as a kid. Most of the time his favorite activity was getting into trouble by playing pranks on people. Endavi knew his son wanted to do many things, so Maro was taken to many different schools to learn, which helped him pursue his interest, but challenged him in other ways. His social life suffered, but he managed to hold many close friendships despite of his constant moving around. Maro found out that he was dyslexic early in his life and at the age of 12, received implants to correct the dysfunction. Although his learning improved greatly, he was mocked for the visible implants on his face. Both because of his moving and his implants, Maro developed a strong will in order to withstand the hurt that both situations cause. Triaana enrolled him in the martial arts in order to help him gain self-confidence, while telling him that it would be good for him if he was going to study at the State War Academy. The implants that had caused him such difficulty with friends had an unexpected side effect in drastically accelerating his ability to instintualize the marital arts, thus allowing him to pick up forms very quickly. He enrolled in the State War Academy at the age of 14, early for a new cadet, but he took to his training quickly. Although deathly scared of public speaking, he became adapted to small group conversations and eventually had many friends, and due to his leadership abilities, gained his own squad. His parents left to go on assignment with Concord, exploring the outer rim of Caldari space and eventually exploring into the newly discovered Jovian Empire. Although he could contact his parents via hyperspacial communication, Maro missed his parents dearly, but they had left him in control of the estates in Jita, along with the fledgling corporation, Ethereian Industries, knowing that he would take to the challenge. Maro's prank career went with him to the Academy, resulting in several demerits and demotions, most of which for petty acts commited against high ranking officers, such as the smoke bombing of the dean's office. Growing up was hard for Maro, but at the age of 18, he graduated first in his class at the Command and Tactics school in the academy, with many minor degrees in fields such as Electronics and Engineering. He was granted his first command of a frigate, the Exanyuira, named for his bloodline, and Maro brought along many of his squadmates and friends to crew his ship. Maro simply wants to do as much as he can both for the Navy and himself, and wants to get Celestia Inc. off of the ground.
