In-game bio
When the great French poet Charles Baudelaire awoke to be told he had been reconstituted from the rehydrated brain recovered from his tomb and smuggled onto the ships that were sent to New Eden...
...he attempted to kill himself with the first sharp object he could find.
To preserve his life, his "captors" (that's what he calls them) made him a capsuleer--virtually impossible to kill. So, with customary spleen, he has resigned himself to his fate. Never to die, and so, never to love truly, never to lust voluptuously, and never to create another poem again (his language centers were not fully recovered, anyway).
Had he known, in his first, real life, that such an afterlife was possible, he thinks he would have been a devout Christian. Because Hell was real after all.
