Also known as Alsafi, Sigma Draconis is located about 18.8 light-years (ly) away from our Sun, Sol, in the northwestern part (19:32:21.59+69:39:40.32, ICRS 2000.0) of Constellation Draco, the Dragon -- south of Tyl (Epsilon Draconis) and north of Altais or Nodus Secundus (Delta Draconis).
Thuban also known by its Bayer designation Alpha Draconis (α Draconis, α Dra) is a star (or star system) in the constellation of Draco. A relatively inconspicuous star in the night sky of the Northern Hemisphere, it is historically significant as having been the north pole star in ancient times.
