Description

Founding & Early Days

The Nanite Repair Paste Company (NRPC) began as a small-scale industrial venture in the Minmatar Republic, founded by a group of ex-slave engineers who sought to capitalize on the growing demand for affordable ship repair solutions. Recognizing the limitations of traditional nanite-based repair systems; costly, energy-intensive, and often restricted by corporate patents, the founders pioneered a revolutionary alternative: New Nanite Repair Paste (NNRP).

Breakthrough Technology

NNRP is a semi-organic, self-replicating repair compound derived from a proprietary blend of scavenged Sleeper nanite fragments, salvaged drone components, bioadaptive polymers and trace amounts of Capsuleers. Unlike conventional repair bots, NNRP operates on a “paste and forget” principle. Once applied, it spreads autonomously across damaged hull sections, prioritizing critical breaches while consuming minimal capacitor energy.
This innovation made NRPC an instant disruptor in the ship maintenance market, particularly among capsuleers and independent corporations operating in high-risk regions like low-sec and null-sec space.

Expansion & Controversy

NRPC quickly expanded beyond Matar, establishing production facilities in high-sec trade hubs and even clandestine mobile refineries in lawless space. However, its rapid rise attracted scrutiny:
• Corporate Sabotage: Competitors like Duvolle Laboratories and the Boundless Creation Group accused NRPC of industrial espionage, citing similarities between NNRP and classified prototypes.
• Regulatory Violations: The Gallente Federation temporarily banned NNRP after incidents of “overactive” paste consuming non-damaged components, though the ban was lifted following lobbying by NRPC’s growing clientele.
• Shadowy Backers: Persistent rumours suggest NRPC’s early research was funded by rogue drone factions or even clandestine Thukker Tribe interests, though the company denies any illicit ties.

Current Operations

Today, NRPC is a mid-tier but influential player in the repair industry, known for its rugged, no-nonsense branding (“Cheap, Fast, Dirty—Like Your Last Battle”). Its products are black-market staples, favoured by pirates, mercenaries, and capsuleers who prioritize function over corporate-approved safety standards.

Motto: “Stick It and Forget It.”

Key Markets:

• Independent capsuleers & mercenary fleets
• Minmatar liberation cells
• Smugglers & outlaw corporations

Notable Incident: In YC116, an NRPC freighter accidentally spilled several tons of experimental “NanoBloom” paste in the Doril system, resulting in a week-long containment effort as the substance attempted to “repair” a nearby asteroid. The company now markets this as a limited-edition mining aid.

NRPC remains a symbol of grassroots innovation; unpolished, unapologetic, and always in demand where the law fears to tread.
