Is Capsuleers.app free?

Yes. Every tool on the site is free to use — so are all the third-party tools listed here. The difference is breadth and convenience, not price.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Everything runs in the browser after an EVE SSO login. Several strong competitors (Pyfa, jEveAssets, EVEMon) are desktop apps you install and keep updated.

How current is this comparison?

Statuses and features were verified in June 2026. Third-party EVE tools appear and disappear over time, so treat it as a snapshot rather than a permanent record.

This page lines up every tool on Capsuleers.app against the third-party EVE Online tool most pilots already know for the same job, so you can see exactly what overlaps and what doesn't.

In fitting, the desktop standard is Pyfa and the old browser fitter OSmium closed in 2018 — our fitting tool brings Pyfa-parity math back to the browser. For maps, jump planning, jump range, routing and sovereignty, DOTLAN EveMaps and Eveeye are the veterans; our live map adds a real-time kill feed and a fleet-member overlay on top. For killboards and intel, zKillboard and eve-kill are the references, while our Pilot Intel and Battle Report tools add colour-coded threat tags, per-system time windows and shareable reports.

Some of our tools have no living rival: the Incursion ISK/h calculator and the SDE-driven quiz games stand alone, and Fleet Ops fills the gap left when FleetUp shut down in 2019. Wormhole scouts will recognise eve-scout.com as the authoritative Thera and Turnur source — it is also our upstream — while Tripwire and Pathfinder now survive only as self-hosted projects.
