Every killboard answers the same question: you type a name, it shows you what that name did. Tactical Killboard answers the one before it — you do not know whose name to type yet, and you want a target.
The Hunting Grounds lens ranks systems by prey rather than by kill count, and separates four regimes that raw activity conflates. A system where thirty ships died in half an hour with thirty attackers on each is a battle: arrive there alone and you are the next killmail. A system where ships die one at a time, hours apart, to two attackers, and the victims never appear as attackers themselves, is a hunting ground. The number that tells them apart is reciprocity — the share of kills where the victim's corporation also shows up shooting somebody in that same system. Tama and Sujarento come out as hunting grounds; Amamake, where people go to brawl on purpose, comes out as a fight; Jita comes out as ganking. The classifier was checked against systems whose reputation in New Eden is already settled.
Pick what you hunt and the ranking changes with it. Miners, haulers, explorers, ratters, capitals — each family is a set of hulls read from the game's own static data, including the awkward cases: the Venture, by far the most-killed mining ship in EVE, is filed under plain Frigate and a group-based definition misses it entirely. Pair a family with an attacker cap and the question sharpens from what dies here to what dies here alone, which is the difference between a target and a trap.
Every system carries a twenty-four-hour histogram in EVE time. A corporation that only undocks at 03:00 is invisible to a hunter who logs in at 19:00, and no amount of total-kill ranking will surface that; the histogram does, at a glance. Alongside it: average defenders, how many distinct corporations show up among the victims — many means traffic passing through, few means somebody's private war — total ISK destroyed, and how long ago the last ship died there.
The feed is the killboard you already know, with the full filter vocabulary: space band, timezone, gang size, ISK floor, hull, solo, awox, NPC, capital. Pods, shuttles and deployables are hidden by default, because a quarter of every killboard is capsules and nobody hunts those.
The archive is our own: ninety rolling days ingested from a live feed, queried in one pass with no page cap. Older history, victim fittings, all-time leaderboards, wars and campaigns are not here and are not meant to be — those stay on eve-kill, which does them well.
