What is the reprocess calculator?

The reprocess calculator is the Capsuleers.App tool for the question every miner asks after a shift: do I sell the ore as it is, compressed, or reprocess it and sell the minerals? It reads the inventory you copied in the client and, for every ore, compares the two values at the yield you set and at Jita 4-4 prices.

Everything is computed in your browser from one dataset (ores, the materials of each batch and the prices), so changing the yield, the market side, the buyback or the tax updates the result at once. Ore, ice and moon ore are all supported, raw or compressed.

Miners after a shift

Paste the ore bay or the hangar and see what each pile is worth before you decide how to move it.

Corporations with a buyback

Set the buyback and the structure tax to see what the corporation really pays, or what you really get.

Reprocessing structure owners

Compare your Athanor or Tatara setup, rigs and skills with a station: the detailed yield tells you what each upgrade is worth.

Getting started

  1. Copy the inventoryIn the inventory, click the list, press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C.
  2. Paste itPaste into the box. The counter shows how many lines were read; the ones that were not are listed.
  3. Set the yieldPick NPC station, Athanor T2 or Tatara T2, or open the detail and set structure, rig, skills and implant.
  4. Read the verdictThe advice and the best mix say what to sell compressed and what to reprocess. Copy the minerals for a multibuy.

How do I copy my inventory into the calculator?

The calculator reads the inventory exactly as the client copies it: one line per stack, with the name and the quantity separated by tabs. Compressed ore, ice and moon ore work too, and so do the lists you get from a contract or a multibuy window, in the form "name quantity", "name x1000" or "name 1,000".

How to use it

  1. Open the inventory (or the ore bay) with the list view, click inside it and press Ctrl+A, then Ctrl+C.
  2. Paste into the "Paste from the game" box. Header lines, blank lines and lines without a quantity are ignored on purpose.
  3. Check the "rows read" counter. Lines the tool does not recognise appear below the box, in a list: nothing is dropped silently.
  4. Several stacks of the same ore are added up, and compressed and raw units of one ore end up on the same line.

Tip Only English item names are matched. If your client runs in another language, switch it to English before copying, or the lines will come back as "not recognised". Windows or Linux line endings do not matter, and numbers are read in any format (1,250 or 1.250 or 1 250).

How is the reprocessing yield worked out?

The yield is the share of each ore's materials you get back. Choose a preset (NPC station 69.6%, Athanor T2 87.6%, Tatara T2 90.6%) or open "Work out the yield from structure and skills" to build your own. Changing any field switches the preset to Custom.

How to use it

  1. Pick a preset for the quick answer: they assume all three skills at level V, and the T2 presets also assume a T2 rig in null-sec/wormhole space and an RX-804 implant.
  2. For your real setup, open the detail and choose the structure (NPC station, other structure +0%, Athanor +2%, Tatara +5.5%), the rig (none, T1 +1 or T2 +3), the security (high-sec +0%, low-sec +6%, null-sec or wormhole +12%) and the implant (RX-801 +1%, RX-802 +2%, RX-804 +4%).
  3. Set your levels of Reprocessing (+3% each), Reprocessing Efficiency (+2% each) and Ore Processing (+2% each).
  4. The yield shown is the result of: (50 + rig) × (1 + security) × (1 + structure) × (1 + 3% × Reprocessing) × (1 + 2% × Efficiency) × (1 + 2% × Ore Processing) × (1 + implant). In an NPC station the base is 50 and rig, security and structure bonuses do not apply.

Tip The skill that matches your ore (for example Veldspar Processing) is not part of the formula: the yield is the general one, not tuned to each ore.

Jita sell or buy, buyback and structure tax: what do they change?

The Price section chooses which side of Jita 4-4 values everything, and applies the deductions. "Jita sell" is what you pay to buy right now, "Jita buy" is what a buyer pays you right now. Buyback % and structure tax % are the deductions between the market value and what you actually receive.

How to use it

  1. Use "Jita sell" to value at the lowest asks, or "Jita buy" to value at the highest bids, which is closer to what you get by selling at once.
  2. Buyback % (default 100) multiplies both the compressed value and the minerals value: for a corporation that buys your ore at 90% of market, enter 90.
  3. Structure tax % applies only to the minerals, because it is charged on the reprocessing. The compressed value is not taxed here.
  4. The note under the fields shows the source and how old the prices are.

How do I read the advice and the best mix?

At the top of the results the Advice box gives a verdict in one line: sell everything compressed, reprocess everything, or sell compressed and reprocess the ores that pay more as minerals. The best mix is the sum, line by line, of whichever of the two is worth more.

How to use it

  1. Read the verdict and the sentence below it: it names the ores worth more compressed and the ones that yield more as minerals, and how much the best mix adds over reprocessing everything.
  2. Compare the tiles: "All compressed", "All as minerals" at your yield, the ore volume (with its compressed volume) and the volume of the minerals you would carry.
  3. The percentage on "All compressed" is its difference from the minerals total.

Tip An ore with no compressed variant, or with no compressed orders in Jita, is counted as minerals in every total.

What does the table by ore tell me?

The "By ore" table lists each ore with quantity, volume, the compressed value, the minerals value and a "Better" column. The better option is highlighted and carries its advantage over the other, in percent. Click a column header to sort.

How to use it

  1. Sort by the column you care about: value, volume or quantity.
  2. Read "Better": "Compressed +12%" means compressed beats reprocessing by 12%; "Minerals" means the minerals are worth more.
  3. A dash in the compressed column means that ore has no compressed price to compare.
  4. On a phone the table becomes a list with the same information.

Tip Reprocessing works in batches of 100 units. Units that do not fill a batch are not reprocessed: a note under the table lists them, ore by ore. Compressed ore counts one for one with raw ore, at a hundredth of the volume.

How do I sell the minerals I get?

The "Minerals obtained" section lists every mineral you get from reprocessing the whole inventory, with quantity, price, value and share of the total. "Copy for multibuy" copies the list as "name quantity" lines, ready to paste into the multibuy window to sell or price them.

How to use it

  1. Check the minerals, ordered by value, and their share of the total.
  2. Press "Copy for multibuy" and paste into the multibuy window of the client.
  3. Remember the list assumes you reprocess everything: if the verdict says to keep some ore compressed, reprocess only the rest.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I should reprocess my ore or sell it compressed?

Paste the inventory and read the Advice box. For each ore the tool compares the compressed value with the value of the minerals at your yield, and the best mix takes the better one line by line. The result depends on your yield, so set it first.

Which formats can I paste?

The inventory copied with Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C, multibuy-style lists ("Veldspar 12500"), "name x1000" lines and contract item lists. Raw and compressed ore, ice and moon ore are all recognised.

Why are some of my lines "not recognised"?

Because the name is not one the tool knows: a typo, an item that is not ore, ice or moon ore, or a client in another language. Only the English names of items are matched, so a client set to Italian, German or any other language needs to be switched to English before copying. The lines are listed so you can see exactly what was skipped.

Does it matter if the text has Windows or Linux line endings?

No. Both are read the same, and so are blank lines, tabs or runs of spaces between the name and the quantity.

What are the 100-unit batches?

Each ore reprocesses in batches of 100 units. A stack of 1,250 units makes 12 batches and leaves 50 units that cannot be reprocessed. The tool does not count them in the minerals and lists them under the table.

Where do the prices come from, and how fresh are they?

From Jita 4-4, the Caldari Navy Assembly Plant station, read from ESI. For each side the price is the volume-weighted average of the best 5% of the orders, so a single order at 1 ISK does not distort it. The server refreshes the data about every hour, and the page shows how long ago.

Does the tool keep what I paste?

No. The text stays in your browser, in the session; the settings (yield, side, buyback, tax) are saved in your browser so they are still there next time. Nothing is sent to an account.

Why does my yield differ from the one in the client?

The preset values assume skills at level V and a given rig and implant, and the detailed formula ignores the skill tied to each ore. If your number differs, open the detail and match the structure, rig, security and skills of your setup.
