Goonswarm vs Fraternity in Sahtogas: 332 Billion ISK Burn as the Lowsec War Gets Its First Big Fight

Two days ago we described the opening of the Goonswarm siege of the Hydra Freeport in Amamake (read the previous article). At the time it looked like a siege with a lot of pilots and few kills. On 2 November that changed: a fight in Sahtogas pulled in more than a thousand pilots and turned into the biggest single battle of this war so far.

The Sahtogas battle in numbers

On 2 November, between 14:00 and 17:00 UTC, Goonswarm Federation and Fraternity met in Sahtogas. A r/Eve user posted the result with the title "First Major Fight off 2026 LS Pirate War. GF everyone!" (thread).

We rebuilt the fight on Capsuleers.app: open the battle report.

  • Total: 447 killmails, about 332.2 billion ISK destroyed, 1,144 pilots.

  • Fraternity side (with Dragon Riders Legion, Texas., Fraternity Auxiliary, Deepwater Hooligans and Northern Coalition. among others): 485 pilots, 346 kills, 205 losses, about 174.4 billion ISK destroyed and 84.3 billion lost.

  • Goonswarm side (with Shadow Cartel, SONS of BANE, Dracarys., Tactical Narcotics Team and Brave Collective among others): 659 pilots, 272 kills, 203 losses, about 157.9 billion ISK destroyed and 98.1 billion lost.

Goonswarm brought more pilots, 659 against 485, but Fraternity's side came out ahead on both kills and ISK. The sides are grouped automatically from the killmails, so a few pilots may sit in the wrong column. As a headline: roughly 16 billion ISK separates the two sides on destroyed value, and the difference in lost value is about 14 billion in Fraternity's favour. That is a win on paper, not a collapse of either side.

What is happening around Amamake

The siege is still the centre of the story. A few things r/Eve users reported over the weekend:

  • A poster claims Goonswarm reinforced Sotiyos and Tataras in Turnur, Amamake, Auner and Huola, while the Keepstars were left alone (BIGAC "state media" post). This is a propaganda post from a party to the war, and we have not confirmed it elsewhere. Treat it as a claim.

  • A CSM candidate and streamer says his yearly charity dreadnought brawl has been postponed and may move to the Amamake Keepstar (thread). It is also described by the author himself as "not a serious plea", so read it for the mood, not the facts.

  • Another user thinks Goonswarm wants to remove every freeport Keepstar used for supercapital trading (thread). It is a hypothesis, nothing more.

  • A community member built a live page that tracks events in Amamake: Amamake monitor (thread).

The economic side matters too. The Amamake market report for October counted 1.25 trillion ISK of sell volume and 148 billion ISK of profit, and its author warned that November may restart "from scratch in some stations" (report). The monthly faction warfare report put the October total at 4.20 trillion ISK destroyed, mentioned a 500 billion ISK brawl in Amamake "mostly from third parties", and expects an even busier November because of the Goonswarm deployment (report).

Lowsec's coalition problem

The loudest topic on r/Eve is whether lowsec can unite. A "Lowsec Voltron" is being discussed, and the posts about it are a mix of jokes, leaks and propaganda: a post alleging that the Sedition leader refused to coordinate (thread), a satirical "bloodless coup" in Sedition (thread), and a video post about a Viceroy admiral leaving lowsec for the Imperium (thread). Several of these are clearly satire. What they do show is that the question of who defends what is still open, and that the Sahtogas fight was mostly a clash between big blocs and not a lowsec-only affair.

One detail worth noting: the propaganda post above says Shadow Cartel has joined the lowsec coalition, but the killmails for Sahtogas place Shadow Cartel pilots on the Goonswarm side. Either the grouping is imperfect or the situation changed between the posts. We cannot tell yet.

Reaction on r/Eve

Players are also making the war a story. Videos like The Cope: The Imperium declares war on LOWSEC and The Battle of Amamake I were among the most-followed posts of the weekend, and a call for small-gang roams into Imperium home space (thread) collected dozens of comments from users saying the homeland is thinly defended while the main fleets are deployed. As always, comments are reactions and not facts.

What to watch

The first Keepstar timer in Amamake, any new structure reinforcements in Turnur, Auner and Huola, and whether Fraternity and the others can repeat Sahtogas with a smaller gap in pilot numbers. We will update when timers or a decisive battle appear.
