Goonswarm Deploys to Amamake: Hydra Freeport Under Siege in Lowsec

A week ago we wrote about the 516-pilot brawl in Amamake. This weekend the system is back in the news, and for a very different reason: Goonswarm Federation has left nullsec and gone to war with the Hydra Freeport network.

What r/Eve is reporting

On the evening of 31 October, a post titled "Goons Anchoring Fortizar in Siseide, potential assault on Amamake keepstar for next 2 weeks" appeared on r/Eve (thread, screenshot). It was the first sign of a staging structure going up next to the Freeport's home system.

A few hours later, Bluemelon, who describes himself as Skymarshal of the Tama Camp, posted the propaganda piece "Siege of Helms Deep" (thread). According to him, around 19:00 EVE time Goonswarm Federation and long-term allies left Isengard in nullsec and began attacking the Freeport in Amamake. He says the complex has run for ten years, that nobody had ever been removed from its ACL, and that the alliance has now been embargoed from every Hydra Freeport structure until the attack is resolved. He also asks players to move their clones and assets and not to start new build jobs.

Take this as a point of view, not a neutral account. It is one author's call to arms. What backs it up is the activity around it: the Fortizar post, a screenshot gallery called "Chronicles of Amamake", and a satirical image titled "Goonswarm 'liberating' lowsec - 2026".

Lowsec starts unanchoring

The reaction has been quick. A thread asking "What the LS doing?" shows screenshots of lowsec players unanchoring citadels as the Goons arrive. A mocking post titled "Lowsec? more like Runsec" claims the same, and its author promises more footage. Later on 1 November another user asked in "While Goons are gone.." why no smaller group is taking advantage of the Imperium's absence from home space to harass its sovereignty.

These posts are very recent, so their comment sections had not been collected when we read them. We are not treating the unanchoring claims as confirmed beyond what the screenshots show.

The numbers so far

We built a battle report for Amamake from 19:00 UTC on 31 October to 13:00 UTC on 1 November: English version.

  • 110 killmails, about 4.59 billion ISK destroyed, 297 pilots involved.

  • Goonswarm Federation side: 199 pilots, 7 kills, 16 losses, around 209 million ISK destroyed and 853 million ISK lost.

  • Minmatar Fleet Alliance side (with Spaghetti N' Meatballs, Local Is Primary, Ushra'Khan and Hashashin Cartel among others): 98 pilots, 50 kills, 59 losses, around 4.38 billion ISK destroyed and 1.04 billion lost.

The teams were grouped automatically, so treat the split as an estimate. What the figures do say is that the Goon deployment is large in headcount but has so far been light on kills. This looks like the opening phase of a siege, not a decisive battle.

What to watch

The r/Eve poster expects the fight to run for about two weeks. The key structures are the Freeport's Keepstar and its remaining Sotiyos and Tataras. Structure timers will tell us whether this turns into a real sovereignty-style campaign for lowsec infrastructure or fizzles out. We will update this story when the first major timers come up.
