170 Billion ISK Burns Over a Staging Fort in Malpais: Inside the X1W-AL Armour Timer Fight

On the evening of 24 October, a few hundred pilots met in X1W-AL, in the Malpais region, over the armour timer of a fort that UA Fleets use as a staging point. A video of the fight, posted to r/Eve four days later, put the loss at "75 bil". The battle report we rebuilt on capsuleers.app, which counts every killmail in the window, puts it at about 170 billion ISK. Here is what the numbers say and what remains unclear.

What happened in X1W-AL

The source is a video by Peng Wei, titled UA Fleets' Staging Fort Fight – 75 bil Destroyed (BIGAB/PROBS/Allies vs UAFL/BOSS/Allies). In the description he writes: "Recent fight in X1W in Malpais over UA Fleets' staging fort armour timer." The thread on r/Eve got very little discussion, only two comments, both about the video's preview tabs, so the community gave us no extra context. The video is the only narrative we have, and it does not say who started the timer or why.

On the sides, the title names Deepwater Hooligans (BIGAB) and Hold My Probs (PROBS) and allies on one side, and UA Fleets and Brotherhood of Spacers (B0SS) and allies on the other.

The numbers, from our own battle report

We rebuilt the fight on capsuleers.app for the window 24 October, 19:00 to 22:00 UTC, in X1W-AL. Open the battle report.

Overall: 193 kills, about 170.4 billion ISK destroyed, 603 pilots. These figures are calculated differently from the ones in the video title, so they do not match.

Three groups show up in the report:

  • Hold My Probs and partners: 161 kills, 36 losses, about 66.8 billion ISK destroyed against 15.3 billion lost, 258 pilots. Hold My Probs (97 pilots) and Deepwater Hooligans (95) are the core, with Legion of xXDEATHXx, Wreckflix and chill, BorderZone and Ministry of Inappropriate Footwork behind them.

  • Brotherhood of Spacers and partners: 98 kills, 151 losses, about 58.3 billion ISK destroyed against 59.4 billion lost, 309 pilots. Brotherhood of Spacers (104 pilots), Synergy of Steel (90), UA Fleets Holding (48) and Seriously Suspicious (42) make up most of it.

  • WE FORM V0LTA and partners: 65 kills, 6 losses, about 45.4 billion ISK destroyed against 117 million lost, only 36 pilots. The group includes WE FORM V0LTA, The Minions., D-sync., Fraternity. and The Excommunicati.

Two things stand out. The first is the loss ratio: the first group lost 36 ships to the second group's 151. The second is the third group, which with 36 pilots took credit for 65 kills and almost 45 billion ISK. Both are what the killmails show; we do not know from them how the fleets were coordinated, and the video does not label that third group as an ally of either side. We are not going to guess.

What we can't say yet

  • Whether the fort fell, held, or went into a later timer. The video and the thread do not say.

  • Who owns the sovereignty in X1W-AL right now. We have not found an official or community source we can cite for this.

  • Why Fenris Creations' mechanics matter here: nothing in the sources links this fight to the changes planned for the Fractured Skies expansion on 10 November, so we leave that connection out.

When a post or a sov map settles any of these, we will update this article.

Also on r/Eve: Saw's Rebellion, a player event for 10 November

A smaller item from the same week. A pilot posted on r/Eve that he is organising a player event inside Pochven called Saw's Rebellion, starting after downtime on 10 November, with first shots at 13:00 UTC and Vanguard activity running until 07:00 UTC on 11 November. He says it is not tied to a charity, he accepts no donations, and he will livestream it. It is a community event, not an official one, and it falls on the same day as the expansion. Thread: r/Eve.

For context on the other Pochven story of the week, see our earlier piece on the Sansha incursion in Pochven.
