Community Beat for 13 March

o7 New Eden!

Another couple of weeks have flown by and, as always, the community has been busy making things explode, creating incredible tools, and showing off their love for EVE in all kinds of ways. From new EVE Partners to massive battles and upcoming events, here’s a look at what’s been happening across New Eden. Kick back, grab some Quafe, and hey - make sure you're safe'd up!

Partner Spotlight

Just this week we've added six new content creators to the Partnership Program. We're always impressed by the creativity they demonstrate and the very unique versions of EVE that they share with the world. This week we take a look at two of the newest additions.

WarpingWombat

EVE is a tough game, but what if you made it... harder? That's exactly what Warping Wombat does! In his streams, Warping Wombat tackles one of the most ambitious long-term challenges that we've seen: progressing through EVE without ever using the player market. Everything he flies is either built himself, looted from wrecks, or purchased through NPC sell orders.

Starting with nothing but a corvette in early 2025, Wombat has steadily climbed the ship ladder through sheer persistence and clever resource gathering. His stream follows the ups and downs of that journey as he pushes toward increasingly ambitious goals. If you’re curious about a different way to experience EVE, drop by his Twitch channel and follow the challenge as it unfolds.

And if you're interested in attempting an EVE challenge like this yourself check out the Tabarnouche Interplanetary Discord where fellow EVE masochists (including Warping Wombat) gather to compare notes and share advice!

Itwasreal

PvP can be exhilarating, but also a bit intimidating. Sometimes being able to watch someone, see their reactions, their crazy outplays, and sometimes even their failures can be a great help. itwasreal brings that fast-paced solo and small-gang PvP to your screens, but also combines that action with practical discussions about ship fitting, piloting decisions, and what actually goes through a pilot’s mind during combat. Whether you’re a seasoned PvPer or someone still trying to get over the PvP shakes, you'll invariably learn a thing or two.

And yeah: there will be lots of explosions!

A Trillion Reasons

The drone regions have been action-packed the last few weeks, it seems every day there's a new skirmish where anything can happen. The groups who are living here are showing that any fight can escalate into something bigger. Swagger Olacar recently put out a video of one of these fights:

On Feb 26, 2026 we formed to defend our Fortizar's hull timer in the system of B6-XE8, although I was not going to attend the fleet initially I would end up catching up with the first Dreadbomb wave. This is the POV from my Revelation. Enjoy.

Somehow We Still Carry On | B6-XE8 Fight B0SS Dread POV | EVE Online

The format is great as he explains a bit of the tactics behind what you're seeing, why they're making certain decisions, and just overall how to get more comfortable with fights of this scale. But if you just wanted to vibe out to some dread brawl action, you can do that too.

Charitable Champions

EVEathon has become something of a tradition in the EVE streaming community. Organized by Rahne and supported by a rotating cast of creators each year, the event has raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity, with each edition supporting a different cause. It’s a fantastic example of how the EVE community can rally together for something bigger than spaceships. To kick things off, EVEathon invited CCP k1p1, CCP Keys, and CCP Esja to chat about their experience in the industry.

EVEAthon Supporting Girls Who Code

Over the course of the continuous 72-hour community stream last week, a lineup of EVE creators came together to support the cause, donating their time, energy, and communities to help raise funds. By the end of the event, the stream had raised over $4,000 for Girls Who Code, supporting initiatives that encourage more women to pursue careers in technology.

Events like this are a reminder that while New Eden can be ruthless in space, the community behind it continues to come together for some amazing causes.

Huge thanks to Rahne and everyone who participated in making the EVEathon such a success!

Frigate Free-For-All Incoming

If your idea of fun involves dozens of frigates exploding in rapid succession, good news. Stay Feral is organizing an NPSI Frigate Free For All this weekend. The action starts Saturday evening (technically Sunday morning) on 15 March at 01:00 UTC (that's EVE time, for those going through daylight saving time)

Expect fast ships, chaotic fights, and prizes up for grabs. You can join their Discord to learn more.

And just to keep everyone on their toes: this one is not the upcoming Stay Frosty Frigate Free-For-All. Apparently New Eden simply cannot get enough of tiny ships exploding, and honestly we're here for it.

NPSIRocks

Speaking of NPSI, there are NPSI (Not purple, shoot it!) community fleets running daily all across New Eden! The FUN Inc community maintains an amazing calendar which tracks upcoming fleets from across the community.

It’s the easiest way to jump into public fleets, try out new playstyles, meet other pilots, and just have a good time in space! While PvP fleets are common, you’ll also find a wide range of other activities depending on who’s hosting. You can head into Pochven, camp Thera, run Incursions, take a class at EVE University, and take part in a fleet fight all in one day if you want!

Also, it's good practice if you're heading to Fanfest this year and want to fly with 60 other nerds on our very own NPSI roam: the LAN Party At the Top of the World!

Fanfest Fleetmates

Fanfest is fast approaching and we're incredibly excited to host a few thousand of our closest space friends.

For many capsuleers, the journey to EVE Fanfest starts somewhere in an airport, scanning the crowd and wondering if that person has a Kestrel on their hoodie or if it's some new K-Pop band.

Over the years, Flight Buddies - organized by Drechlas - has become a Fanfest tradition. Pilots share their flight details ahead of time so fellow capsuleers can spot each other along the way, meet up during layovers, or even coordinate rides from Keflavík once they land. It’s a small but very EVE moment, starting Fanfest before it even officially begins.

This year the Flight Buddies site has received a full refresh, making it even easier to see who’s flying in when, find other pilots on your route, and start forming those airport fleets early.

FlightBuddies

So if you’re heading to Iceland for Fanfest, take a look! You might discover your next fleetmate is sitting just a few rows behind you on the plane.

That's it for this edition of the Community Beat. Keep being amazing, and fly safe!

Anger Games 7: The Thunderdome Awaits!

Anger Games 7: The Thunderdome Awaits!

Fitting mavens, Pyfa princes, meta masterminds, and tournament enjoyers of all walks of life, we have great news! One of New Eden’s most beloved and long-standing player-run tournaments, The Anger Games, is back again this April for Anger Games 7!

The Anger Games is one of EVE’s longest-running player-organized tournaments, designed and run by members of the community. It’s a 7v7 team deathmatch style tournament with a similar structure to EVE’s Alliance Tournament, but different enough to create some unique metas and strategies.

Player-run competitions play a pivotal role in the competitive EVE scene, allowing pilots to compete, experiment, sharpen their skills, and dip their toes into this unique gameplay. In fact, many tournament veterans had their first structured experience in events just like this, and successful teams tend to place very highly in the AT.

How to get involved

Anger Games 7 is looking to fill the bracket with a whopping sixty teams! The format begins with a 5-team group stage, moving into a double elimination tournament. That makes for a lot of explosions and experience for competing teams. Since the tournament is held on our Thunderdome server, getting the ships (and skills) is taken care of so the barrier to entry is quite low.

Prospective team captains should head over to the Anger Games Discord server and follow the instructions to register. Pilots looking for teams can also join, as competitors are always looking for new talent to join their ranks.

Interested parties can check out the rules & points structure from the Anger Games tournament organizers.

If glory isn’t reason enough to compete, there are some stellar prizes up for grabs this year. There are hundreds of billions of ISK and PLEX in the prize pool, and the top performers will even get one of the most sought-after AT ships of all: the Laelaps!

Key Dates & Information

Team registrations & rosters are open until March 15, 2026

Anger Games 7 will take place over three weekends in April, with coverage on 11 & 12, 18 & 19, and the finals on the 25 & 26.

For interested viewers, the matches will all be broadcast live on the CCP Twitch channel from 17:00 to 22:00, offering viewers the opportunity to engage in match predictions for SKIN rewards!

There will be a full contingent of talented player commentators, hosts, analysts, refs, and observers. So whether this is your first tournament or your 20th you’ll be able to follow along with all the action.

Anger Games continues to be a fantastic showcase of what the EVE community can build together, and we’re excited to see another year of creative strategies and fierce competition unfold. A big thank you to the tournament organizers and volunteers who make the event possible.

Good luck to all the teams preparing, and we’ll see you on the broadcast!

The Capsuleer Edda – Latest News

Dedicated capsuleers,

At Fanfest 2026, capsuleers will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to contribute to the Capsuleer Edda, a cultural and archival project preserving the living history of EVE Online.

Drawing on Icelandic manuscript traditions and saga culture, this historical project translates a digital player-driven universe into a physical object meant to endure. It brings together calligraphy, historical narrative, material experimentation, and symbolic participation.

It is the entire history of the capsuleers of New Eden, written in their own blood, designed to last for millennia.

Did You Say Capsuleer Blood?

Yes. Yes we did. It is a purely symbolic gesture, as blood is not a durable writing material. This manuscript is designed to last, so using pure blood would defeat the purpose. Using some blood will make this more meaningful, however.

Visitors to Fanfest 2026 will be invited to contribute a single drop of blood each, which will be infused with a historically based 17th century ink structure, that is formulated to stand the test of time.

The project is non-clinical in nature, completely voluntary, anonymous, and non-diagnostic. It will be overseen by trained professionals.

All blood samples will be pooled into a single composite material, after which individual samples cannot be separated, contributors cannot be identified, and withdrawal is no longer possible.

Why the Capsuleer Edda?

Human culture increasingly exists online, including social systems, economies, shared history, and forums of self-governance. While many of these spaces may feel permanent, they are not.

They are owned by companies, they change and evolve, and in some cases may disappear.

Human means of preservation have become less and less permanent throughout history. We started by preserving information in stone, which can last millions of years. Then skin, which lasts for millennia. Then paper, digital media, and finally the cloud, each medium solving certain problems but introducing others.

The Capsuleer Edda doesn’t solve digital preservation, nor does it attempt to do so. What it does is take one long-lived digital society and preserve its history in a durable, physical form. The materials and methods have been chosen for longevity.

The tome will be produced on vellum, which has a long history as durable manuscript material. It is ethically sourced, chosen for its archival properties. The point is not to revive lost traditions, but to choose the most durable materials available.

EVE Online has been operating continuously for more than two decades, its open world shaped by capsuleers over time. Few digital spaces can boast this level of continuity, making it uniquely suitable for this kind of cultural reservation.

What’s in the Edda?

The Capsuleer Edda is commissioned by Icelandic authors, writing to reflect the history and shared experience of EVE Online as a digital culture.

The contributing writers are Andri Snær Magnason and Jónas Reynir Gunnarsson. They will preserve capsuleer stories in verse, producing a work of art rather than a purely biographical text. They have been interviewing the EVE community, getting feedback, and scouring the player-driven history of New Eden to inspire and inform their epic poetry.

The manuscript will be hand-written by a professional calligrapher and intentionally left unsigned to reflect historical manuscript traditions, in which scribes documented sagas without credit.

Be a Part of History

More information about the Capsuleer Edda, will be revealed at EVE Fanfest 2026. Guests will also get the opportunity to be a part of the preservation of capsuleer history by donating a drop of blood to the project.

If you have yet to secure your Fanfest ticket, act now, as they are almost sold out.

We look forward to seeing you in Iceland and having you become a part of the Capsuleer Edda.

Player Presenters at EVE Fanfest 2026

Conversational capsuleers,

EVE Fanfest is the ultimate gathering of EVE players; a place where capsuleers from across the cluster come together to celebrate the universe they’ve helped build. And no celebration would be complete without a word from the pilots who shape New Eden.

Each year, we shine the spotlight on community members who live and breathe EVE, letting them take to the stage to share their expertise, experiences, and passion. Let’s meet the player presenters for EVE Fanfest 2026:

Warlock Industries

Warlock Industries demonstrates how cinematic battle footage is recorded during live combat, transformed into accessible visual stories, and archived as EVE history. Practical techniques, storytelling choices, and creative workflows are highlighted to inspire more pilots to document the scale and beauty of New Eden’s wars.

The Oz

Veteran trader and CSM member, The Oz, explores the real drivers behind EVE’s markets, including wars, patches, political shifts, and player behavior. Using concrete examples, the session offers practical insights into how and why prices change, and what players can learn from those movements.

Grunt Kado

Grunt Kado reflects on his evolution from small-gang PvPer to YouTube creator, covering mindset changes, content challenges, and modern PvP approaches. Through gameplay examples and theorycrafting, the session offers insight into creating engaging PvP content that resonates with veterans and newer players alike.

Squizz Caphinator

Squizz Caphinator traces the full lifecycle of a killmail, from ESI ingestion to statistics, rankings, and public APIs. The talk reveals the scale, complexity and infrastructure behind zKillboard, offering insight into how EVE’s combat data is processed, stored, and shared with the community.

Argus Sorn

Emergency physician and veteran EVE presenter Argus Sorn reflects on resilience, leadership, and burnout, drawing lessons from both real-world medicine and in-game organizations. The talk connects personal experience, post-pandemic perspective, and long-term EVE leadership into a candid exploration of growth and recovery.

Susurrus Synaesthesia

A psychiatrist, addiction subspecialist, and long-time EVE player explores the science behind risk versus reward in New Eden. From “the shakes” in high-stakes PvP to adrenaline-seeking behavior and shifting risk thresholds, the session connects neuroscience, novelty, and player decision-making across combat, fleet dynamics, and the wider EVE meta.

Kevin Grumman

Alliance Tournament training lead and long-time newbro mentor shares hard-earned lessons from building competitive fleets from the ground up. Covering fleet composition theory, fitting fundamentals, and engagement control, the session blends practical doctrine insight with candid reflections on running an open training team in one of EVE’s most demanding competitive arenas.

ESI Creator Panel

The ESI team will be joined by leading EVE Online third-party app creators for a panel discussion focused on the tools that power New Eden beyond the client. Together, they will explore development challenges, ESI integration, and how player-driven applications continue to shape the EVE ecosystem.

Fern Kitsuen presents EVE Guru, a leading industry and trading planning tool. Covering its origins, features, and community impact, the session explores why advanced third-party tools matter in EVE and offers a glimpse into future developments shaping industrial gameplay.

Watson Crick

For the first time at Fanfest, we’ll be offering a miniature painting seminar led by Watson Crick, introducing attendees to practical painting techniques adapted for EVE starships. The session covers the entire painting process, including tools, paints, color theory, and finishing methods. A collection of finished EVE miniatures will be showcased as well.

There is clearly a lot to look forward to, as Fanfest draws ever closer. Keep in mind that tickets are almost sold out, so get yours now!

Even if you can’t join in person, many of these exciting presentations will be featured on the Fanfest live stream, and all will be recorded and released on the EVE Online YouTube channel, so keep your eyes peeled for that.    Lastly, a huge thank you goes out to everyone who submitted an application to present this year! There are always way too many great topics and speakers to choose from, and hopefully you’ll apply again next time.    See you in May!
