In addition to being a place of fun and adventure, New Eden brings amazing people together to do great things. Capsuleers in distant star systems have on multiple occasions banded together to raise money for worthy causes through PLEX For Good.

It’s back again, and this time it’ll be here for good! That’s right, it will remain open forever.

Generosity Looks Good on You

A new page is now up, making it easier than ever to make a PLEX donation. You simply need to log into your account, have at least one PLEX in your vault, and at least one active character.

To begin with, PLEX For Good will partner with two charitable organizations: Players vs. Cancer and ICE-SAR (Icelandic Search and Rescue). You can choose which one to donate to, or divide between both!

Icelandic Search and Rescue teams are powered by volunteers who answer around 1,800 calls a year and put it all on the line in one of the most hostile landscapes on Earth. They also lend their assistance across the globe, and were among the first foreign rescue teams on the ground following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, among other things. The whole operation is run on donations and volunteer work. They are looking for new rescue ships now, to go out where no one else will. Your PLEX can help contribute to these new vessels.

Players vs. Cancer (PvC) brings gamers and streamers together to raise awareness and funds for lifesaving cancer research with a shared goal of ending cancer once and for all. Their fundraising efforts benefit the AACR (American Association for Cancer Research). More information on progress made in the last year, and what’s still left to do, can be found in their executive summary.

Moving forward, we will extend the generosity network of PLEX 4 Good to include more charitable organizations, including international partners.

PLEX For Good has already raised significant amounts for emergencies and charitable causes, and as a part of our vision for EVE forever, we wish to create a future where we are forever generous.

Once again, capsuleers from across the galaxy will converge on Reykjavik from 14-16 May, as EVE Fanfest returns.

As ever, Fanfest is a celebration of the EVE community. From long-time alliances to new pilots, content creators to developers, everyone who helps shape New Eden has a place here.

Across multiple days and nights, the Harpa Conference & Concert Hall will be alive with presentations, hands-on experiences, community spaces, and unforgettable moments both on and off the stage.

Beyond Harpa, Reykjavik itself becomes part of the experience as capsuleers take over the city with meetups, events, and late-night conversations.

This post will act as your central source of information on everything happening at EVE Fanfest 2026. Whether you’re attending in person or joining remotely, you’ll find all the key information right here, to help you plan your time and make the most of the festival.

Registration & Badge Pickup

EVE Fanfest attendees can retrieve their festival passes on the ground floor of Harpa at the following times:

It is strongly recommended you pick your badge up during pre-registration, if possible, to avoid long queues and to make sure you’re ready to go when the festival kicks off on Thursday.

Livestream

Even if you can’t make it to Harpa in person, there’s no need to feel left out! EVE Fanfest 2026 will be broadcast live on the CCP Twitch Channel, with two full days of programming streamed directly from the Trade Hub in Harpa.

Whether you’re following from home or tuning in between fleets, the livestream brings you key announcements, presentations, and special guest appearances from across the event.

Guiding you through the livestream this year is a group of familiar faces from the EVE community. They will be on hand throughout the broadcast, introducing segments, sharing insights, and helping connect capsuleers at home with everything happening on stage.

Starting at 9:30 UTC on Friday 15 May, join other Fanfest attendees for fascinating presentations, interviews with developers and EVE players, and guest keynote speeches by Paul M. Sutters and Dr. Beth Healey.

Capsuleers warping to Reykjavik, get to enjoy a packed schedule spanning multiple stages, experiences, and activities.

To help you plan your festival experiences, this year introduces an official EVE Fanfest mobile app, letting you explore the full schedule, build your personal agenda, navigate interactive floor plans, and stay up to date with everything happening across the venue. It will also include lively chat boards for all things Fanfest, making it easier to join the conversation as the event unfolds. If you’re flying solo, it may also help you connect with capsuleers you have not met before.

Fanfest is as much about the moments between sessions as it is about what happens on stage. Across Harpa, you’ll find ample opportunities to connect with friends, test your skills in gameplay, and explore new experiences. There’s always something happening just around the corner.

Capsuleer Forum

EVE Fanfest 2026 introduces the Capsuleer Forum, a dedicated moment to bring the community together at the start of the event.

On Thursday at 11:00, programming pauses to give capsuleers the opportunity to meet up with friends, corporation members, and alliance mates at the venue. For some of the larger groups, dedicated rooms have been arranged, while others can gather throughout available social spaces.

This is a chance to connect and reconnect, put faces to names, and kick off the festival together, because at its heart, Fanfest is about you, the community.

Gameplay Stations

Immerse yourself in the action with a range of hands-on experiences across the venue.

• EVE Gameplay Station Have you always wanted to try flying an Alliance Tournament frigate or cruiser? Come try it in a simple sit-down-and-play 2v2 PvP format with pre-fit ships. Grab a friend, pick a ship, undock, warp to the arena, and pew pew while staying withing the boundaries!

  On Friday at 14:00, CCP Zelus will be hosting an EVE Tournament Social Scrimmage. Come on over to the EVE Gameplay Station to meet your fellow competitive play enjoyers, participate in informal chats and to share feedback on tournament ideas.

• Crucible Gameplay Stations The year is 2012. Fanfest is hosted at Harpa for the first time ever. Gangnam Style is taking over the World. TEST alliance held space. It was a completely different time! What better way to pay homage to that first Fanfest at Harpa than to have an EVE Online build from that time. Be sure to set your clone state!

• EVE Vanguard Gameplay Station Play an in-development build of EVE Vanguard. Try the new Minmatar SMG, deploy to the Lost Convoy map, and take on Mordu’s Legion at their military compound. Drop in, raid, loot, kill, and extract. Can you do it without dying?

• EVE Frontier Piloting Station EVE Frontier has come a long way since last Fanfest. There are new ships, a novel scanning interface, more ships. WASD and joystick flight controls, improved weapon and targeting mechanics, and so much more. Check it out and let us know what you think!

The Capsuleer Edda

Fanfest guests will have a chance to participate in one of the boldest cultural projects ever undertaken in EVE: the Capsuleer Edda. Rooted in Icelandic manuscript tradition and built to preserve the living history of New Eden in physical form, this extraordinary work brings together epic poetry, calligraphy, vellum, and symbolic capsuleer participation.

Guests at Fanfest will be able to contribute a single drop of blood to the project, becoming part of a manuscript designed to endure for millennia. Note: this will not affect your standings with the Blood Raiders.

While digital worlds can evolve and disappear, or become inaccessible, vellum manuscripts have endured for centuries or even millennia, which is why that’s the medium chosen to preserve the living history of New Eden.

World in Words – a Preview Exhibition from Árnastofnun While waiting to donate a drop of their precious bodily fluids to the Capsuleer Edda, attendees will get the rare chance to see an Icelandic vellum manuscript with their own eyes, and steep themselves in the world that inspired the Capsuleer Edda by learning more about Iceland’s manuscript tradition and the legacy of preserving stories in physical form.

• EVE History Exhibit An interactive experience that brings key moments and milestones from EVE’s history to life, offering a new and immersive way to explore the stories that you helped to write.

• Miniature Painting We’re bringing SKINR out of EVE and into the real world! Unleash your creativity at the EVE miniature painting area. Painting supplies and friendship as well as a complimentary EVE ship mini are provided. If you don’t have experience painting miniatures don’t worry – we'll also have experienced artists on hand to introduce you to the basics. And who knows? Maybe our favorite paint job could even find it’s way back into EVE Online somehow...

• Sui Builder Village Third party programs have been a cornerstone of EVE Online forever. The Builders Village is the place to go to learn about the various third-party tools that make EVE Online what it is. The creators of zKillboard, EVE Pandora, RIFT Intel Fusion Tool, EVE Guru and EVE Workbench will all be there in person to teach you how to get the most out of their programs!

• Sui Booth Swing by the Sui booth to learn about making Smart Assemblies in EVE Frontier.

• EVE Creator Awards The EVE Creator Awards recognize the talent and passion of the EVE community. Join us at the award ceremony to celebrate your favorite content creators.

Iceland Intel & Navigation Guide

If this is your first visit to Iceland, here’s a quick rundown.

• Weather The forecast for Fanfest is always uncertain. When in doubt, expect the classic Icelandic “four seasons per day” situation, where it may be sunny, then rainy, then windy, then all of the above. As they saying goes, if you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes. Temperatures usually hover around 5-12°C (40-44°F), with a mix of sun, wind, and the occasional rain shower. Bring layers and a waterproof jacket. You’ll thank yourself later. Umbrellas don’t normally do well with the harsh winds, so bring them at your own peril.

• Language The local language is Icelandic, but everyone speaks excellent English. You’ll have no problem getting around, and menus and important signs will almost always have translations. When in doubt, don’t hesitate to ask!

• Money Iceland’s currency is the ISK, but sadly your in-game wallets won’t work. Icelandic society is all but cashless, so credit/debit cards (as well as Apple/Google Pay) are accepted everywhere, from bars to busses to hot dog stands. Be sure to notify your credit card company before you travel to let them know. If you want to have cash on hand, the best exchange rates tend to be at the airport upon arrival.

• Connectivity WiFi surfing is easy! Harpa, every hotel, and most restaurants offer free WiFi access. However, if you want a local data plan, grabbing an eSIM is also quick and easy. Nova offers one you can set up in advance or on arrival.

• Airport transfers Keflavik International Airport (KEF) is about 45 minutes from Reykjavik. The simplest option is Flybus, which runs in sync with flights and drops you off at major hotels or the BSI bus terminal.

Although Reykjavik is small for a capital, getting around can take up precious time you could otherwise spend at a meetup! Since Harpa is centrally located, most places are within walking distance, but if you’re looking to get from A to B a bit faster, here are a few options:

Following the disaster at the Jita stargates, unrest is at an all time high, and the empires prepare to face each other in battle. Fragile CONCORD protocols are holding them back for now, but all-out war seems inevitable.

For adventurous and enterprising capsuleers, this is a momentous opportunity. All across the cluster, there are challenges to take on and riches to reap.

The War Spreads

Once Capsuleer Day XXIII: Warpath gets underway, on 30 April, you will be able to take on brand-new combat sites throughout highsec and lowsec, similar to Factional Warfare complexes. These will range in difficulty to suit pilots of all experience levels. Fight to defend these complexes against unique adversaries and earn rewards.

In addition, there will be hacking, industry, and mining challenges, a brand new fleet-based capital support site in lowsec, as well as other existing activities that will contribute towards your progress on the seasonal reward track. In short, there will be something for everyone.

The Capsuleer Day activities will be available through the Agency and AIR Opportunities.

Rewards For All

Among the rewards on offer this Capsuleer Day are new officer and faction modules, PLEX, SoCT ships, Skill Points, and SKINR components.

There is nothing quite like war in New Eden. The planning, logistics, leadership, and tenacity behind EVE’s largest conflicts continue to produce moments that feel impossible until you make them real. 

Last week, the Imperium declared war on WinterCo, and it did not take long for the first great clash in this war to materialize in Atioth. The system has historically seen a lot of conflict between Imperium and WinterCo forces, with large fights breaking out as recently as February between the two powers.

Geographically, Atioth is significant as an entry point into WinterCo territory in Geminate, so it makes sense for it to become the first real focal point in this conflict. For the Imperium, a Keepstar in Atioth is a significant strategic beachhead and fit for an opening salvo. Likewise, it’s an equally logical place for Winter Coalition to mount a response, not only to push their advantage but to set the tone for future fights.

The Imperium went with a show of force, placing their supercapital and capital fleet on the anchoring Keepstar to protect it. WinterCo adopted a zerg-rush strategy, preparing thousands upon thousands of Vexors to chip the Keepstar down bit by bit.

  While the tactics were worlds apart, the preparation and organization were similar. Both sides took deliberate efforts to manage conditions at the start of the engagement. Fighter and drone deployments were staggered in an attempt to reduce the immediate strain on the server node.

And as the timer approached, numbers continued to rise. At ~16:30 UTC over 6,500 people were in system, and it just kept climbing. Past 7,000. Past 8,000. Over 9,000, up to a maximum population of 10,253, shattering the previous Guinness World Record of 6,557 characters brawling over a Keepstar during The Fury at FWST-8. Once again showing the scale EVE players are willing to reach when the stakes are high enough.

  10,253: A Space Oddity

At this scale, battles stop being ordinary in every possible sense. The combined weight of thousands of ships, countless modules cycling, fighters moving, drones deploying, commands relayed, bubbles dropped, reinforcements arriving, and decisions being made across an enormous web of coordination all put enormous pressure on the simulation.

These numbers are extraordinary, and extraordinary numbers in New Eden have a way of pushing performance into unknown territory. When fights hit this scale, there is only so much that either side of a fight, or CCP Games, can predict ahead of time. Just minutes before the Keepstar was due to online, the node hosting Atioth – which was reinforced and isolated from the rest of New Eden - collapsed under that pressure. At 18:26 the last heartbeat was acknowledged from the node, at 18:29 the node had terminated, and by 18:35 clients in Atioth began to disconnect.

Almost immediately the system was automatically remapped to another dedicated node. This was followed by login trouble for some players, while the battle raged around them. Some pilots were able to return sooner than others, especially those coming from different systems. Others found themselves facing long loading times, uncertain outcomes, and the reality that the fight was still evolving while they struggled to get back into the game. We even saw some new things happen, like sovereignty reverting to a state from earlier in the day. While a bit weird, our engineers now understand the exact circumstances that can cause this, and our teams are able to rectify this in the future.

In situations like this, our guiding principle has always been to get involved as little as possible and let the simulation stand on its own. Given the way EVE’s economy and wars are structured, it is vital to us that we remain as fair and consistent as possible for everyone involved. After reviewing what happened in this fight, that is the approach we are taking here as well. That said, battles at this scale are inherently unpredictable, so we still carry out a thorough post-mortem review to understand what happened and decide, case by case, whether any response is needed.

Since this conflict is only in the early stages, more large-scale engagements are almost certainly still to come. As always, if you are planning or expecting a major engagement, please make sure to submit a fleet fight reinforcement request at least one downtime before your fight. Reinforcement remains one of the most important tools available for helping us prepare a system for extreme player concentration and for giving these fights the best chance of running as smoothly as possible under heavy load. We know this isn’t always possible and will work with FCs and leaders to facilitate emergency remaps, but the fleet fight notification tool remains the best and most reliable way to have a beefier node to brawl on.

The Next Milestone

The pilots of New Eden have always found ways to reach higher, and EVE has grown alongside them.

Players push the envelope of what is possible, and we continue working to improve performance with better hardware, better software, and changes to the systems that shape these battles. As EVE players continue to create larger wars and bigger fights, those battles keep bringing the game into new territory.

More than 10,000 players in one system is an extraordinary milestone. Nearly 10 trillion ISK destroyed in the first major clash of a new war is another. Together, they make Atioth one of those battles that immediately earns a place in the history of New Eden, and a clear sign that this conflict is only just getting started. We salute the pilots who formed, traveled, fought, logged back in, and kept the battle going deep into the following day.

This is one of the reasons EVE remains singular in the world of MMOs. When players choose to go all in, they do so at a scale that keeps redefining what “massively multiplayer” can mean. Pilots landing in Iceland for Fanfest 2026 have a unique opportunity to venture into the Lava Tunnel in a very special EVE-themed tour at Raufarhólshellir.

You may remember this lava tunnel from last November, when CCP TV broadcast live from the Lava Tunnel to celebrate the launch of the Catalyst expansion.

The experience begins with transport from Harpa and a guided journey into Raufarhólshellir, where expert guides will take you through the geology, history, and unique formations of this ancient lava tunnel before the environment shifts into an immersive EVE-Themed light and music experience deep underground. After the tour, you will have the chance to sample a limited edition Catalyst Gin.

About the Catalyst Gin

The experience also includes a tasting hosted by Mosi Gin inside the tunnel itself, where their expressions age in the cool, stable air of the cave. One of the barrels used was even part of the original Catalyst livestream, making this a fitting follow-up for capsuleers who remember that moment.
