I was born into a family of traders and grew to understand the family business with great acumen. My father was proud to one day pass the business onto me and in my early years I was proud to the family tradition.

As I entered her teenage years I began to question my father's wishes. Was that all I was going to ever be? A mere trader moving from system to system trading in various goods? Was there nothing more? Nothing more lucrative? At the age of sixteen I confided this in my father. Far from understanding, he took this as an insult to his entire life and shunned me from then on.

Whilst mother tried to reconcile us both, it was ultimately to no avail. It was only a short time until I packed my belongings and enrolled at the science and trade institute to start my new life. I kept in contact with mother for a short period of time, and it was not long before I was expecting a younger sibling.

Once the baby was born the communication between myself and my parents became less and less, until one day messages no longer arrived. Far from it to dwell on this I strove forward in her studies in defiance, graduating with full honours several years later. It was then that my life was shook to the very core.

A Concord broadcast announced the destruction of a trading vessel in the local system. I toyed with the idea of my parents in her mind before receiving a message from the Dean of the institute. My brother, Johannes and my parents were missing and presumed dead. I never truely saw eye to eye with my parents and had not even met my brother, but their loss rattled me to the bone.

After a long leave of absense, I returned to the institute and took up a teaching post, but far from settling down the job became tedious. As more a gesture out of defiance to her father than anything I bought an Ibis frigate with my limited savings and left in search of new opportunities.

It was then I ran into my business partner Erin. She prefered to be called by her second name Drascus, a topic of laughter between ourselves and our collegues. We set up our first business, Drascus & Drascuk, which was a small mining company.

Before long friends and entrepreneurs wished to join our small venture and soon we had a burgeoning corporation at our fingertips. Changing our name to Starfire Industries we started a giant recruitment campaign, and the money started flowing in at a phenomenal rate.

I wish I could say all good things lasted forever but they unfortunately do not. Drascus and I were leading a massive mining operation in low security space, a risky but profitable venture. What happened then happened so fast I barely had time to act.

Pirates jumped into the system in which we were mining and began makring threats to our miners. The ever assertive Drascus chose to defend her members when the pirates opened fire. It was all I could do to warp out of the system when things started going badly.

I was the only survivor. No one followed me. Drascus - my best friend and all of our members were dead. I was beside myself with grief. The corp was bankrupt and my ship was severely damaged. So much so infact that I never made it back to headquarters.

It was days before I was rescued, and I most certainly would have died if not for that pilot's brave deeds. When I came aboard his ship and looked at my savior the strong gaze of my father met me. My father was long dead I knew, but the resemblance was uncanny. Here stood before me for so long was my long lost brother Johannes.

He took me back to his home base from where I have continued the corporations proud history. I'm in frequent contact with Johannes and he has been a great help in breathing new life into Starfire. I don't know what the future will hold, but with with the family reunited, surely it can only get better!
